Abstract: A detachable magnetic base for a machine tool table is described having a permanent magnet for contact with the table, a body member thereabove for securing auxiliary devices thereto, and a manually adjustable bolt passing through the body member and magnet to engage the table and release the magnet for removal or to disengage from the table and permit the magnetic base to become affixed to the table. Other uses are described.

Abstract: Automatically retractable chalk and plumb line assembly including a housing having two compartments, one of the compartments being formed with a closable first opening through which chalk is receivable in the one compartment, the other of the compartments being sealed against penetration by chalk from the one compartment, a reel disposed in the one compartment, a line wound on said reel and unwindable so as to extend out of the housing through a second opening formed in the one compartment and means disposed in the other compartment for rewinding the line on the reel.

Abstract: A theft-proof collapsible enclosure for a table-top working area includes a plurality of panels disposed in closed condition of the enclosure, in separate mutually intersecting planes above the table-top working area, the plurality of panels forming a top wall, a front wall and two side walls of the enclosure in the closed condition thereof, the panels of at least the top wall and the front wall being pivotable about respective substantially horizontal axes at the mutual intersections thereof so as to collapse the enclosure.

Abstract: A switch guard assembly for preventing accidental actuation of a switch, the assembly including a switch plate and a box-shaped member mounted on the switch plate and having a front wall formed with a surface disposed substantially parallel to the switch plate, and the front wall being closed against access by the fingers of an operator's hand through the front wall to a switch actuator extending out of the switch plate, the box-shaped member having at least one fully open side for affording access to the switch actuator by the fingers of an operator's hand.

Abstract: A fixture for aiding in the support of a work during a grinding operation so that the work does not chatter; the fixture including a base block for being stationarily positioned, the block supporting a pivotable rocking lever which at its one end bears against the work and which at its other end adjustably supports weights so a desired force of the first said end of the lever is applied to the work.
