Publication number: 20240035760Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for evaluating performance of a heat exchanger, such as a condenser, using rules-based logic. A plurality of sensors can measure various operating properties of the heat exchanger and transmit corresponding measurement information to a controller. The controller can (i) evaluate the measurement information for a plurality of rules in which each rule considers an operating parameter of the heat exchanger that is based on the measurement information to provide a set of operating values; compare the set of operating values to a rules matrix in which each of a plurality of possible diagnoses for the heat exchanger are associated with a corresponding set of predetermined values from a set of the plurality of rules; and (iii) based on the comparison, determine at least one likely diagnosis for the heat exchanger from among the plurality of possible diagnoses.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 27, 2022Publication date: February 1, 2024Applicant: CHEMTREAT, INC.Inventors: Kevin BOUDREAUX, David Craig THOMPSON, John R LEWIS, Avish PATIDAR, Nicolaas A VAN GOOR, Timothy S SWITZER

Patent number: 10316499Abstract: A freeze prediction system for components such as one or more water pipes situated in a building. The building may have a heating system, a mechanism with a temperature setting connected to the heating system, and an indoor temperature indicator connected to the thermostat. A call may be made for heat if thermostat setting is greater than an indoor temperature. A check may be made as to whether a call for heat may be answered. Outdoor conditions may be read and accounted for in the system. An expected time may be calculated of a freeze danger. One may determine whether the freeze danger is significant according to the expected time of freeze danger compared to a predetermined time. If the freeze danger is not significant, a regular equipment failed alert may be sent out. If the freeze danger is significant, a pipe freeze warning alert may be sent out.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2018Date of Patent: June 11, 2019Assignee: Ademco Inc.Inventors: Nicolaas A. Van Goor, Thomas Rosback, Marc Light

Patent number: 7363308Abstract: A computerized system for augmenting data from a source database with data from a reference database to generate an augmented database that can be used for predictive modeling is disclosed. The present invention includes a method for using the Internet to obtain information, including, reading a data record stored in a field of data, searching a database for information describing the data record, condensing the information describing the data record into a value description, associating the value description with the data record, and augmenting the field of data with the value description associated with the data. The present invention also includes a computerized system for augmenting data from a source database with data from a reference database to generate an augmented database that can be used for predictive modeling and data mining to conduct searches of data in the augmented database.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 2001Date of Patent: April 22, 2008Assignee: Fair Isaac CorporationInventors: Craig Dillon, Richard Howe, Nicolaas A. van Goor, Sachin Sarnobat, Russell W.
