Based on an indicator in an existing first disparate live media output stream manifest, alternate content options are transmitted to the media player. A response is received corresponding to a selected alternate live input stream and/or a pre-encoded media asset. An updated first disparate live media output stream manifest is published to a content delivery system, which includes one of the alternate live input stream manifest associated with the selected alternate live input stream.
