  • Publication number: 20110291861
Abstract: A device for assisting in understanding the traffic surrounding an aircraft during communications between aircraft with one or more ground control organizations performed via a digital data link set up on a frequency, each of the control organizations communicating and exchanging digital messages with a plurality of aircraft on said frequency, includes: reception means for the aircraft to receive the messages exchanged between the aircraft and the ground control organization on said frequency, means for storing the messages received by the aircraft and means for displaying all or some of the received messages.

  • Patent number: 8068945
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for homogenizing measurement units used for displaying communication messages containing numerical data notably messages exchanged by an aircraft with the air traffic control authority. The choice of the working units of the flight management computer are recovered in the configuration database. The measurement unit of the numerical data item of the displayed message is determined. When the measurement unit of the numerical data item of the message does not form part of the system of measurement units, the numerical data item is connected into a unit forming part of the system of units. The display of the communication message on the onboard screen is formatted.

  • Publication number: 20110004369
Abstract: A method for generating electronic documentation (DOC) for the maintenance of a set of equipment (EQPT), in particular of an aircraft, is provided. The method is beneficial in allowing the automatic generation of electronic documentation (DOC) updated dynamically in tandem with the progress in a maintenance operation on the set of equipment (EQPT). Utilization of particular schemes for constructing dynamic models (ABS) associated with sets of equipment (EQPT) is advantageously accomplished.

  • Patent number: 7511635
Abstract: The information relates to a method of transmitting information between a communications management unit on board an aircraft and a ground air control system, characterized in that it comprises the following steps consisting, in respect of the communications management unit, in: a) detecting the reception of alerts originating from an onboard surveillance system, via a communication bus, b) when an alert is detected, shaping the information contained in the alert as a report according to a predetermined format, and dispatching this report to the ground system.

  • Publication number: 20080192693
Abstract: The present invention relates to the determination of the ground address that an aircraft must call within the aeronautical telecommunication network ATN to prepare a context for digital data exchanges with a ground air traffic control center. It consists in using the GSIF general data broadcast by certain ground telecommunication stations, including VDL ground stations, to enable the router on board an aircraft passing through the coverage area of a routing center to undertake an automatic handshake procedure. This operation consists in identifying the ground telecommunication station concerned by its GSIF data, locating it from this identification and selecting the address of the ground CM application of the air traffic control center closest to the identified ground telecommunication station from a file of ground CM application addresses organized by geographical areas.

  • Patent number: 6965771
Abstract: It is proposed, for better efficacity of the ATN aeronautical telecommunication network, that the requests for logons through the ATN network originating from non-ATC applications be subjected to a validation of the addresses requested by means of two availability tables kept up-to-date and placed in the terminal hosting the applications asking for logons. One of the tables relates to the availability of the local applications and serves to advise the remote terminals. The other table relates to the availability of the remote applications and serves for the validation of the logon requests emanating from the local applications.

  • Patent number: 6714783
Abstract: A process for the automatic searching by an aircraft for a communication address of a ground entity of an ATN network. In the process, each address is coded according to a hierarchical binary tree structure including several fields. A first field identifies the network and the subsequent fields identify entities of the network. The process determines in the aircraft the address of the communication center to be contacted from the identity of an ground router which it receives, by comparing the received address of the router with those of the addresses contained in a database of the aircraft, and retaining as an address that which has the largest number of characters in common with the address of the ground router, given the tree structure of the addresses. Such a process may find particular application to ATN communications.
