  • Patent number: 5167744
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of hermetically sealing a space, more particularly of manufacturing electronic components (9), such as CCD's, LCD's and sensors, mainly consisting of a support (13) and a covering plate (17) enclosing a cavity (19), in which a moisture-sensitive element (15) is arranged and which is hermetically sealed in that the covering plate (17) is secured by means of a thermo-setting glue (5) to the support (13), the operation of curing the thermo-setting glue (5) being carried out in a hermetically sealed chamber (11).

  • Patent number: 4818069
Abstract: A wedge-shaped body (35) having profiled surfaces (37, 39) facing first and second elements is interposed between the first and second elements. The surfaces have first surface portions (37A, 39A) against which the elements abut and second surface portions (37B, 39B) which together with the elements define gaps (61) in which adhesive is applied to join the elements and the second surface portions.

  • Patent number: 4796252
Abstract: The invention relates to an optical assembly comprising a holder (1) and an optical element (3). The holder has an inner wall (9) on which a plurality of parallel ribs (11) are formed. The optical element has an outer wall (7), a plurality of gaps (13) being formed between this outer wall and the ribs. The optical element is connected to the holder by means of an adhesive which is applied exclusively in said gaps.

  • Patent number: 4750826
Abstract: Optical assembly comprising a holder (1) having an inner wall (9) on which a plurality of parallel ribs (11) are formed and an optical element (3) having an outer wall (7), a plurality of gaps (13) being formed between this outer wall and the ribs. The ribs are sufficiently narrow to present a substantially line-shaped contact area to the outer wall. The optical element is connected to the holder by means of an adhesive which is applied exclusively in said gaps.

  • Patent number: 4639131
Abstract: An arrangement for measuring the static lives of glass optical fibers. The arrangement comprises a number of holders. In each holder a rod with a fiber wound on it can be arranged. The holder surrounds each rod on three sides. Upon rupture of a fiber the broken ends strike the enclosure and eject the rod from its holder. Means are provided for recording the instants of insertion and ejection of each rod in and from a holder.
