Patent number: 10072771Abstract: This invention relates to valves (2) for heat exchanger thermostats (1), thermostat heads (3) for a heat exchanger thermostat (1) and a heat exchanger thermostat (1) comprising a valve (2) and a thermostat head (3). According to the invention, temperature sensitive means (10) are provided on or within said valve (2) and/or said thermostat head (3) influencing a throttling behavior of said valve (2) depending on a temperature of a fluid controlled by said valve (2). By this, a premature throttling of the fluid controlled by said valve (2) due to heat transfer between the fluid and the thermostat head (3) may be prevented. Thus, a good ambient temperature may be established which comes closer to the desired room temperature.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 2016Date of Patent: September 11, 2018Assignee: Danfoss A/SInventors: Niels Gregersen Holing, Bjarne Frederiksen, Arne Markvart, Haraldur Sigurdsson, Gaia Balzarini

Patent number: 9488379Abstract: A method is provided for adjusting several parallel connected heat exchangers supplied with a coolant medium. The aim of the invention is to simplify the adjustment. For this purpose, the method consists in a) determining a specific value of heat requirement for each heat exchanger in a predetermined time period; b) comparing the specific values of all heat exchangers therebetween and c) in modifying the adjustment of the heat exchanger having the lowest specific value of heat requirement in such a way that the heat requirement thereof is increased.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 2012Date of Patent: November 8, 2016Assignee: DANFOSS A/SInventors: Joergen Seerup, Niels Gregersen

Patent number: 9112082Abstract: The present invention relates to a single photon source 1800 comprising a tapered nanowire 1802, where the nanowire 1802 is made of a semiconductor material, a first electrode 1828 and second electrode 1814, where the electrodes are electrically coupled to a photon emitter 1804 embedded in the nanowire 1802 and wherein the photon emitter 1804 is capable of emitting a single photon when an activation voltage is applied between the electrodes. In advantageous embodiments of the invention, the nanowire is encircled by air or vacuum, such that advantage can be taken of the resultant large ratio between a refractive index of the nanowire and the encircling material, air. Another advantageous feature might be that the first and second electrodes are optically transparent, such that they can be used as part of a reflective element or anti-reflective element.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 2010Date of Patent: August 18, 2015Assignees: DANMARKS TEKNISKE UNIVERSITET, COMMISSARIAT A L ENERGIE ATOMIQUEInventors: Niels Gregersen, Julien Claudon, Jean-Michel Gérard

Patent number: 8944099Abstract: A valve arrangement is provided, (1) comprising: a valve (2) for controlling a flow of heating or cooling fluid through a heat exchanger, an actuator (12) for actuating said valve (2), control means (15) for controlling said actuator (12), a first temperature sensor (18) connected to said control means (15), a thermal resistance between the first temperature sensor (18) and the valve (2) being greater than a thermal resistance between the second temperature sensor (19) and the valve (2). It is intended to improve control of the valve. To this end the first temperature sensor (18) and the second temperature sensor (19) are part of detector means detecting a closing condition of the valve (2).Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2011Date of Patent: February 3, 2015Assignee: Danfoss A/SInventors: Peter Gammeljord Nielsen, Lars Munch, Niels Gregersen, Bjarne Frederiksen

Publication number: 20130150465Abstract: The present invention relates to a genetically modified pig as a model for studying breast cancer, mitochondria related protein folding disorders and/or epidermolysis bullosa simplex. The modified pig model displays one or more phenotypes associated with any of said disorders. Disclosed is also a modified pig comprising a modified endogeneous BRCA1 and/or BRCA2 gene, and/or a modified ornithine transcarbamylase gene, and/or a modified Keratin 14 gene and/or a transcriptional or translational product or part thereof. The invention further relates to methods for producing the modified pig; and methods for evaluating the effect of a therapeutical treatment of breast cancer, mitochondria related protein folding disorders and/or epidermolysis bullosa simplex; methods for screening the efficacy of a pharmaceutical composition; and a method for treatment of a human being suffering from breast cancer, mitochondria related protein folding disorders and/or epidermolysis bullosa simplex are disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 22, 2012Publication date: June 13, 2013Applicant: Aarhus UniversitetInventors: Peter Michael Kragh, Lars Axel Bolund, Charlotte Brandt Sørensen, Thomas Juhl Corydon, Niels Gregersen, Peter Bross
