Abstract: A method and apparatus for manufacturing graphene including rotating a continuous surface within an evacuated chamber; coating the surface with a catalyst layer; heating portions of the catalyst layer; coating the heated portions of the catalyst layer with one or more layers of graphene; monitoring grain growth of the graphene layer; if the monitored grain growth indicates unacceptable grain growth, then taking corrective action; and removing the catalyst layer and the layer of graphene from the surface by heating other portions of the catalyst layer.
