Various aspects may include performing determining a request payload for a communication from a client device. Aspects may also include creating a first reference data object for a first subset of data fields of the request payload. Aspects may also include creating a second reference data object for a second subset of data fields. Aspects may also include replacing a first value of the first subset with a first reference value. Aspects may include replacing a second value of the second subset with a second reference value. Aspects may include encrypting a response payload with the first reference data object and the second reference data object in an encrypted text-based structured data file format with a cryptographic key.

After the customer is checked in at the merchant's designated area, the merchant may identify the customer who is about to make a payment from a plurality of other customers who also are checked in at the merchant via Bluetooth proximity and facial recognition in parallel. Thus, the customer may automatically be authenticated to make payments by facial recognition or Bluetooth proximity.

The method includes determining whether a notification is received from the first application indicating that the shared artifact is used by the first application at a merchant. The method includes, in response to a determination that the notification is received, marking the shared artifact used. In response to marking the shared artifact used, a used artifact notification is sent to the second application to indicate that the shared artifact has been used and it is unavailable for use by the second application.
