  • Patent number: 10246082
Abstract: A drive system for a vehicle comprises an electrical machine, arranged between a combustion engine and an input shaft to a gearbox. The rotor of the electrical machine is connected with a component of a planetary gear, and the input shaft of the gearbox is connected with another component of such planetary gear. A first locking means may be moved between a locked position, in which the planetary gear's three components rotate at the same rotational speed, and a release position, in which the components are allowed to rotate at different rotational speeds. A second locking means is moveable between a locked position in which the output shaft of the combustion engine is locked together with a component in the planetary gear, and a release position, in which the combustion engine's output shaft is decoupled from such a component.

  • Publication number: 20190002137
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus for converting a sheet material into packaging templates can include a converting machine that performs conversion functions, such as cutting, creasing, and scoring, on the sheet material. Items to be packed into boxes formed of the packaging templates can be used as the pattern for determining the location of performance of the conversion functions on the sheet material. Accordingly, no intermediate measuring of the items may be required prior to performance of the conversion functions. Instead, longheads can be positioned adjacent to opposing sides of the items and cross heads can be advanced inward to the positioned longheads.

  • Publication number: 20180370522
Abstract: A vehicle includes a combustion engine (CE) and electric machine (EM) coupled to an energy storage system (ESS) and a controller, which are configured to maximize ESS/battery charge recovery during high performance operation. The controller commands the CE to generate power exceeding road load power and power demand (PD), to recharge the ESS at a maximum rate for rapid ESS charge recovery. Responsive to the PD, the CE generates a maximum power to drive the EM to recharge the ESS at a maximum rate during acceleration, deceleration, and when maintaining velocity of the vehicle, and to generate positive torque and discharge the ESS when PD and road load power exceeds CE maximum power, according to the PD, road load power, and maximum ESS charge rate. Power regeneration during deceleration may also be enabled for the electric machine and/or regenerative brakes, which further maximizes ESS SoC recovery during high performance operation.

  • Publication number: 20180327164
Abstract: Foldable templates include sheet material with a front surface and a retaining element connected to the sheet material extending over at least a portion of the front surface. In box insert configurations, the sheet material has transverse and longitudinal creases, the retaining element extending across the creases. In retaining box configurations, the sheet material includes a base panel and opposing longitudinal side walls, with transverse creases extending across the base panel and side walls. In each template, folding the sheet material upward along transverse creases opens a receiving area between the front surface and retaining element to receive a product. In the box insert configuration, folding the sheet material downward underneath the front surface along transverse creases pulls the retaining element tight over the product. In the retaining box configuration, folding the side walls upward flattens the transverse creases and pulls the retaining element tight over the product.

  • Publication number: 20180312365
Abstract: Systems and methods for folding and stacking fanfold corrugated board material. A system may include a rotatable member (e.g., a wheel) having a number of head pieces disposed thereon. Each head piece has a vacuum setting that can be used to pick up a portion of a length of fanfold and hold it while the rotatable member rotates around its axis and a second blower setting that blows the portion of the length of fanfold that was picked up and rotated around the rotatable member down onto a stack of fan fold. Such a system is capable of forming regular and consistent stacks of fanfold material efficiently and cost effectively without the need for significant human intervention.

  • Patent number: 10081348
Abstract: In a method for controlling a vehicle with a drive system comprising a power unit configuration adapted to provide output for the vehicle's operation, and further comprising a planetary gear and a first and second electrical machine, connected to components in the planetary gear via their rotors, a locking means is moved from a locked position, in which two of the planetary gear's components are locked together, so that the three components of the planetary gear rotate with the same speed, to a release position, when the vehicle is driven with the locking means in a locked position, by carrying out the following method steps. The power unit configuration is controlled in order to achieve torque balance between the components that are locked together by the locking means, and such locking means are moved into a release position, when said torque balance prevails.
