  • Patent number: 4944353
Abstract: An agricultural machine comprises a self-propelled chassis (1) and an arrangement for displacement of the working member (9) over the field surface, comprising a hermetic chamber (3) with a port (4), a source (2) of a fluid agent pumped into the chamber (3) under a pressure, and a flexible hose (7) wound onto a drum (5) and internally accommodating a tractive element (8). A section of the tractive element (8) projecting from a free end of the hose (7) mounts an attachment carrying the working member (9) and movably connected with the flexible hose (7). The free end of the hose (7) is passed through the chamber (3), turned inside out and hermetically secured in the port (4) of the chamber (3) so that it forms an annular space (A) communicating with the chamber (3) and by changing its volume under the action of the fluid agent moves the hose (7) over the field, which pushes in front of itself the attachment carrying the working member (9).

  • Patent number: 4936707
Abstract: The proposed pipeline is made up of pipe sections connected in succession by elastic outer coupling elements having their entire surface brought into intimate contact with pipe section joints. Provided at the ends of the pipe sections are recesses for accommodating coupling elements therein. The method for laying the above pipeline involves successive joining of its pipe sections by means of continuously placing several layers of a binder-impregnated tape onto the joints. The pipeline is lowered into a trench before the binder sets. The machine for carrying out the method includes a carriage with a frame on which there is mounted a mechanism for connecting, pressure-sealing, and insulating pipe sections of the pipeline. This mechanism is arranged at an angle to the path of travel of the carriage and capable of reciprocating and rotating relative to the pipe sections being joined into a pipeline.

  • Patent number: 4891115
Abstract: An apparatus is used for both repair of operating pipelines and protection of newly built pipelines and comprises a cleaning tool (1) which is caused to move in the interior of the pipeline (5) under the action of a flow of fluid containing a dissolved inhibitor. The cleaning tool comprises a hub (3) on which blades (4) are secured in two rows to engage the pipeline surface. The blades (4) are displaced with respect to one another so that the angle between two adjacent blades is from 10.degree. to 25.degree. to define apertures along the periphery of the cleaning tool through which jets of fluid can flow to remove a part of deposits and to impregnate the remaining layer with the inhibitor dissolved in the fluid as so to form a protective coating. A support member (11) carrying an impact-type alarm member is mounted on the cleaning tool (1) so as to facilitate location of the apparatus in the pipeline and to maintain the apparatus in a desired position.

  • Patent number: 4865673
Abstract: A method of applying a protective coating to the inner surface of a pipeline includes the steps of adhering a porous flexible hose to the pipeline inner surface, an end of the hose of which is turned inside out and attached to the pipeline. The hose is moved inside the pipeline by progressively turning it inside out and pressing it to the inner surface of the pipeline by providing an excess pressure in a cavity formed by the portion of the hose turned inside out, and producing a counter-pressure before the hose as the same travels lengthwise of the pipeline. The magnitude of the counter-pressure is maintained at a predetermined level in the course of the hose travel. A piston having a passage for the hose is placed in the cavity formed by the portion of the hose turned inside out, and a binder is placed between the piston and the portion of the hose turned inside out. The binder soaks through the pores of the hose to facilitate the formation of a bond between the hose and the inner surface of the pipeline.

  • Patent number: 4828796
Abstract: A method of protecting the internal surface of a pipeline against corrosion resides in introducing into the pipeline a composition comprising 0.01 to 1 part of a phosphate and a silicate. The phosphate can be sodium polyphosphate or monosubstituted potassium phosphate. The silicate can be an alkaline metal silicate or silicon dioxide. The weight ratio of the phosphate to the silicate varies from 9-50:1, respectively, and the composition includes up to 100 parts of water. The composition is formed by fusing the phosphate and the silicate at a temperature of about 800 to 10000 degrees C. and cooling the fused composition until a vitreous structure is formed. The composition is then introduced into a pipeline containing water having a P.sub.2 O.sub.5 concentration of about 0.3 to 3.5 milligrams per liter.

  • Patent number: 4818298
Abstract: A method of removing deposits from the inside surface of a pipeline and applying a protective coating thereto includes cleaning the pipeline inside surface and treating this surface with a solution of corrosion inhibitor to form a coating on the pipeline inside surface followed by a subsequent treatment with a solution of corrosion inhibitor to maintain the strength of the coating thus applied. The method provides for cleaning of the inside surface by jets of liquid which produce a pressure differential between the core of deposits and their surface to separate the deposits from the pipeline walls, while simultaneously impregnating the remaining layer of deposits with a solution of corrosion-promoting agent and subsequently impregnating the layer with a solution of corrosion inhibitor to form a coating.
