Abstract: This invention relates to a lining for lining inlet ports and outlet ports in a frame plate or a pressure plate for plate heat exchangers and comprising a cylindrical portion and two flanges which are connected to the cylindrical portion and which during the use of the lining are positioned on each side of the frame plate or pressure plate. According to the invention the lining comprises a rigid part having a cylindrical portion (6; 9; 13B; 16) and a flange (3; 8; 13A; 19) being an integral part of the cylindrical portion, and that the remaining part of the lining is made of an elastic material.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a plate heat exchanger comprising heat exchange plates clamped between a frame plate and a pressure plate, the frame plate and the pressure plate having ports with linings for intake and outflow of media to be heat exchanged and the heat exchange plates having ports in alignment with corresponding ports in the frame plate and the pressure plate round which ports of the heat exchange plates ring gasket grooves extend. According to the invention the one of the frame plate or the pressure plate (1) facing the rear side of the ring gasket groove (4) of the heat exchange plates is provided with linings (2; 14; 22; 23) which do not require machining of the plate (1) at the area of the ports and that the sealing between the lining (2; 14; 22; 23) and a heat exchange plate (3) is brought about by means of a ring gasket (10; 21) engaging the ring gasket groove of the heat exchange plate (3) positioned closest to the frame plate or the pressure plate (1).

Abstract: In a plate heat exchanger having a frame plate and a pressure plate, at least one of these plates has holes for flow of the heat exchanging media to and from respective passages in the pack of heat exchange plates. Each of these holes has a lining of corrosion-resistant metal comprising a hollow cylinder with thin flanges at its opposite ends engaging opposite sides of the frame plate or pressure plate. One of these flanges has a seamless connection with the hollow cylinder and is sealingly compressed between a heat exchange plate and an undepressed surface of the inner side of the adjacent frame plate or pressure plate. Lining of the hole is effected by plastically deforming a metal disc into a hollow cylinder with a flange at one end, inserting the other end of the cylinder through the hole to engage the flange with said undepressed surface, and then providing said other end of the cylinder with a flange engaging an undepressed surface of the outer side of the frame or pressure plate.

Abstract: Disclosed is (1) a method of resisting as well as suppressing recurrent venous thrombosis in a human susceptible to or having said thrombosis, which method comprises administering to said human a recurrent venous thrombosis-combatting effective dose of a pharmaceutical composition comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt of moroxydine, such as of an inorganic acid as hydrochloric or sulphuric, or an aliphatic carboxylic acid such as any of acetic, ascorbic, citric, fumaric, gluconic, glycolic, lactic, levulinic, maleic, tartaric, salicylic or nicotinic acids, and (2) pharmaceutical preparations containing such acid addition salts for the indicated use.

Abstract: An analytical test, color change reagent preparation comprising peroxidase, an oxygen-oxidoreductase specific to a particular substance to be tested and a chromogen-reactive-indicator formula selected from (a) those having the general formula ##STR1## wherein X is the divalent carbonyloxy or sulfonyloxy group, W is hydrogen or another cation compatible with the aforesaid other ingredients of said reagent preparation, the subscript n is 0 or 1, and (i) when X is the carbonyloxy group, A is a divalent alkylene chain with from 2 to about 7 carbons, and (ii) when X is the sulfonyloxy group, n is 0 when A is the divalent alkylene chain of from 2 to about 7 carbons, and n is 1 when A is straight chain trimethylene or tetramethylene, and (b) the acid addition salts of said disubstituted benzidine derivative, compatible with the aforesaid ingredients of the chromogen-reactive-indicator, when X is the carbonyloxy group.

Abstract: Disclosed are benzidine derivatives substituted in each of the 3,3'-positions by the substituent ##STR1## wherein W is hydrogen or an alkali metal, the subscript n is zero when A is the divalent branched chain alkylene having from 2 to about 7 carbon atoms, and n is one when A is straight chain divalent alkylene with 3 or 4 carbons. Also disclosed are the corresponding derivatives wherein the sulfonyl group is replaced by the carbonyl group. Further disclosed are chromogen-reactive indicator compositions having as their chromogen constituent one of the foregoing benzidine derivatives. These compositions (1) are useful to test for a substance for which there exists a specific oxygen-oxidoreductase, such as a sugar, an amino acid, uric acid, and the like, and thus (2) contain also a peroxidase, a hydrogen-peroxide-oxidoreductase, and a specific oxygen-oxidoreductase for the specific material in the testing of which the composition is to be used.
