  • Patent number: 11815032
Abstract: A controller for a gas turbine arranged to supply a load is described. The gas turbine includes a fuel supply arranged to supply fuel at a fuel flow rate to a combustor. The fuel supply includes a first fuel supply and a second fuel supply. The controller is arranged to control a proportion of the fuel flow rate supplied via the first fuel supply based, at least in part, on the fuel flow rate. A gas turbine includes such a controller and a method controls such a gas turbine.

  • Publication number: 20180299129
Abstract: A combustor for a gas turbine includes a pre-combustion chamber, a swirler, a burner plenum, wherein the swirler and the burner plenum surround the pre-combustion chamber in a circumferential direction with respect to the centre axis of the combustor. The swirler has a plurality of slots through which an oxidant/fuel mixture is injectable into the pre-combustion chamber, the each slot with at least a fuel injector through which fuel is injectable into the slot. The peripheral wall of the pre-combustion chamber includes a plurality of mixing holes downstream of the swirler for letting a portion of the oxidant gas in burner plenum to flow from the burner plenum to the pre-combustion chamber.

  • Patent number: 7927078
Abstract: A wind turbine includes a tower supporting a drive train with a rotor, at least one blade extending radially from the rotor; and a plurality of substantially flat flaps extending substantially perpendicular from a suction surface of the blade and along different chord lines near a tip of the blade for capturing and directing tip vortices toward a trailing edge of the blade.

    Assignee: General Electric Company
    Inventors: Nishant Parsania, Kevin Standish
  • Patent number: 7541714
Abstract: Body wedge blocks are provided adjacent the end of the rotor body that have a forward facing axial end that is aerodynamically streamlined. Thus, between adjacent body wedge blocks a flow passage for cooling air is created that allows gradual contraction of the flow from the endwinding region toward the subslot ducts, thereby reducing pressure losses.

  • Patent number: 7342345
Abstract: A dynamoelectric machine cooled by a gas flow. The machine may include a rotor, an endwinding extending axially beyond the rotor, a spaceblock located about the endwinding, and a passageway positioned about the spaceblock. The spaceblock may include a C-channel extending into the passageway so as to deflect the gas flow into an axial direction.
