The apparatus (129) further includes a controller (125) configured to control the force-applying elements (22, 350, 352) such that the force-applying elements (22, 350, 352) apply the force to the conduit (371), thereby forcing the urine from the conduit (371) in a downstream direction, and to calculate a volume of the urine that was forced, based on the controlling of the force-applying elements (22, 350, 352).
