  • Publication number: 20100131866
Abstract: A system enables web-based teleconferencing. The system uses a voice services router connected to phone devices associated with respective web browser clients. The system also uses an application server connected to the voice services router for receiving conference call events for a conference call from the voice services router and for transmitting the conference call events to a message server. The application server is furthermore connected to the web browser clients associated with the phone devices for receiving conference commands from the web browser clients and for transmitting the conference commands received from the web browser clients to the voice services router. The message server is connected to both the application server and the web browser clients to thereby act as a message broker for receiving messages from the application server for the conference call and for communicating the messages for the conference call to the web browser clients.

  • Publication number: 20080132267
Abstract: Transmission power levels of uplink/downlink communication is controlled in a wireless communication system. A receiving station produces and provides to a transmitting station power control information based upon received signals from the transmitting station. A measured block error rate (BLERmsr) is obtained from the number of erroneous blocks in a sliding window of the last N received data blocks and SIR adjustments are set based upon the BLERmsr and a target BLER (BLERtarget). A target SIR of received signals is adjusted according to the SIR adjustments.

  • Publication number: 20070165554
Abstract: A system, method and computer program product for providing a user a way to change communications presence information is disclosed. A point of presence (PPD) device may produce presentity (a source of presence information about a user) which may be transmitted out-of-band to a watcher or watchers of an intelligent call handling presence server.

  • Publication number: 20070047522
Abstract: The present invention relates to telecommunication systems and more specifically, to a method of and system for managing and routing calls and/or data between various devices. The invention includes a method of routing real-time communications including the steps of: obtaining rule preferences from a user, and responding to the receipt of a communication by determining the current contextual state of the user. The method then determines how to route the communication with respect to the current contextual state of the User and the User's rules, and routes the communication in accordance with that determination.

  • Publication number: 20060288099
Abstract: The present invention relates to telecommunication systems and more specifically, to a method of and system for responding to inquiries regarding user presence with respect to various communication systems. The invention provides a method of responding to a presence inquiry for a given user which includes the steps of establishing context parameters for the user, establishing rules to govern responses to presence inquiries, the rules relying on values/states of the context parameters, and determining values/states of context parameters at the time of the presence inquiry, including identifying the party making said inquiry. A presence response is then established with respect to the established rules and the values/states of the context parameters at time of the presence inquiry This presence response is then reported to the inquiring party.
