  • Patent number: 8004712
Abstract: It is desired that only necessary document pages be picked up from an enormous quantity of documents and copied by controlling copying operation on the basis of information designated by a user. For this purpose, a plurality of images are input, each image is segmented into objects, and an object as a search key is set. It is then determined, with respect to each of the plurality of images, whether the objects segmented from the image includes the object as the search key. Images containing the object as the search key are selectively copied out of the plurality of images.

  • Patent number: 7969599
Abstract: A method of controlling an information processing apparatus, which counts process amounts in the device for each user, in a system for processing print jobs within a range of access limitation information. The information processing apparatus specifies a user who requests access authority information for a job, and a job whose access authority information is issued to that user. The apparatus checks if a process of the job is completed. The apparatus determines a printable page count of the specified user using an output process amount value of the job issued by the user, when the specified job is complete. The apparatus notifies a managing apparatus, which issues access authority information, of the printable page.

  • Patent number: 7672933
Abstract: In an information processing apparatus which can encrypt a file and can store the encrypted file at a predetermined location, an input file is separated into a header field and data field, and the separated data field is encrypted and saved in association with information included in the header field. In the meantime, a keyword required to specify the file is extracted from the separated data field, and the extracted keyword is converted into a hash value. The obtained hash value is stored in association with the information included in the header field. Upon storing a file, the contents of the file after storage can be prevented from being easily recognized by a third party.

  • Publication number: 20080267517
Abstract: An image processing apparatus is provided which can restore original data by combining divided data without requiring information about the number of divisions and about succeeding data. To achieve this, the image processing apparatus includes a dividing section for successively dividing the original data at a data size predetermined with respect to a prescribed two-dimensional code image; and a section for assigning a final flag indicating that the data is final data to the data divided lastly from the original data, and for assigning to the other data an ordinary flag indicating that the other data is not the final data.

  • Publication number: 20070133792
Abstract: Image processing apparatus receives an original document on which confidential information is written, and outputs an image upon converting it in a form which allows only a specific person or terminal to read the contents. The original image data read by a reading unit is stored in a memory. Area definition information defining an entry area in the original and encryption key specifying information specifying an encryption key are extracted from a copy-forgery-inhibited pattern from the original image data stored in the memory. The image data in the entry area is encrypted by using the specified encryption key. The image data in the RAM is updated and output by storing the information obtained by encryption as image data in the corresponding entry area in the image data.
