Abstract: An attachment indexing apparatus which performs the steps of indicating an objective indexing position angle of an attachment by an indexing position angle indicating means 1, detecting the present position angle by a position detecting means 2, comparing the objective indexing position angle with the present position angle by an angle comparing means 3, determining the indexing rotation direction of the attachment by an indexing rotation direction determining means 4 in accordance with the compared result, calculating an indexing rotation angle of the attachment from the angle compared result and the indexing rotation direction by an indexing rotation angle calculating means 5, and indexing and rotating the attachment in accordance with the determined indexing rotation direction and the calculated indexing rotation angle.

Abstract: An equipment of a machine tool for exchanging one tool attached to a main spindle into the other tool in a tool pot by memorizing a relative location between a terminated position of the cross rail and an elevator position of the tool pot of the tool-pot magazine mounted at one side of a gate-type column of the machine tool and being provided with corresponding detachable tool therein, calculating necessary movement distance of the tool pot with reference to the relative location, operating the tool-pot magazine by the calculated movement distance by a servo motor, and exchanging one tool attached to a main spindle into the other tool.

Abstract: A printer capable of mounting various emulation integrated circuit (IC) cards storing control programs for matching the printer with various host computers and identifying the name of an IC card mounted therein. When it is determined by a central processing unit (CPU) in the printer that an IC card is attached to an IC card terminal and that the printer is being operated in a maintenance mode, data stored at a predetermined address in the card is printed and the type of card can be identified on the basis of the printed output.
