  • Publication number: 20050286944
Abstract: Page numbers on original document volumes that have been read are deleted from the read image information as a part of image processing, and page information sorted with the original document pages of multiple read original document volumes as a single document is superimposed onto the image information from which the page numbers have been deleted, following which the pages are printed out. The pages are thus provided with serial page numbers according to the sorting thereof, and situations wherein both original and new page numbers are present on the pages can be avoided.

  • Patent number: 6980310
Abstract: A method to enhance the copy or printout efficiency and decrease the number of output jobs that are abandoned because of undesirable outputs. Abort of output due to absence of sheets or staples, overload of a delivery tray, or the like is predicted. If output abort is determined, data is removed from an output queue and re-registered as an output reserve job at the end of the queue.

  • Patent number: 6952278
Abstract: A data processing apparatus executes a plurality of types of jobs. In this apparatus, it is determined whether the execution history of each type of job is to be indicated. The execution history is stored if it is determined that it is to be indicated. • Patent number: 6336011
Abstract: An image formation apparatus obtains optimum double-face print output results aligned in a binding direction even if plural recording sheet sizes mixedly exist in one document. To do so, a CPU of a formatter unit judges consistency between image formation directions on different-size recording sheets on the basis of a designation state of a short edge binding double-face mode or a long edge binding double-face mode designated to a print job by a PC/WS and a designation state of the recording sheet size independently designated to each page of the print job, and it is then controlled based on the judged result that double-face image formation to the recording sheet of either of the designated sizes is performed based on the other double-face mode than the double-face mode actually designated to the print job.

  • Patent number: 6314213
Abstract: The direction of the document in the original image read by an image reader unit (101) is discriminated by a document direction discrimination unit (102). Rotation processing and the like are performed for the original image in accordance with the discriminated direction. The resultant image is output onto a recording paper sheet. When a fault diagnosis unit (103) diagnoses the document direction discrimination unit (102) and determines that the unit is faulty, the image processing apparatus recognizes the direction of the document in the original image on the basis of information provided from the operator through an operation unit (109), and executes the above processing.

  • Patent number: 6285460
Abstract: An image processing system includes an input device which inputs an n page document, with the n pages being reduced in size so that a predetermined number of the n pages can be layed out in a layout print format on a single sheet for recording. A selection device selects between first and second layout modes for laying out the predetermined number of pages in the layout print format for recording. In the first layout mode the predetermined number of the n pages are first layed out in the layout print format and are subsequently stored in a storage device, and are then read from the storage device for recording on a single sheet. In the second layout mode the predetermined number of pages are first stored in the storage device on a page by page basis, are then read from the storage device and are subsequently layed out in the layout print format, and are then recorded on a single sheet.
