  • Patent number: 4976197
Abstract: A double-sided printing machine in which two sides of fed sheets are printed by two adjacent impression cylinders, each with their own plate and blanket cylinders. Thereby, the first impression cylinder acts as a sheet feed cylinder for the second impression cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4967660
Abstract: A sheet-fed rotary printing press for printing both the obverse and reverse side of a printing sheet. The printing press is provided with at least one obverse side printing unit including an impression cylinder and a discharge cylinder in contact therewith. The printing press is also provided with a reverse side printing unit in confrontation with the discharge cylinder. The discharge cylinder also functions as an impression cylinder for the reverse side printing.

  • Patent number: 4960049
Abstract: An offset printing machine having a first printing unit where an ordinary offset printing is achievable and a second printing unit where a number printing and perforating operations can be performed. The second printing unit has an impression cylinder independent of an impression cylinder of the first unit. The second unit is pivotally movable in horizontal plane with respect to the first unit. When the first and second units are connected to each other, offset printing process and subsequent numbering process are achieved. When the second unit is pivotted and is disconnected from the first unit, ordinary offset printing machine can be solely performed. A chain delivery section is provided in the first unit so as to transfer the printed sheet to the second unit. Tension control means is provided for controlling tension of the chain. Further, vertical and horizontal position fixing means are provided for fixing vertical and horizontal position of the second unit relative to the first unit.

  • Patent number: 4480545
Abstract: An offset press is provided with two printing units, the first of which is a typical offset unit and the second of which is adapted to effect number printing, relief printing or perforation or the like. The second printing unit is provided with a printing cylinder, a paper ejection cylinder and first and second delivery cylinders whose axes are positioned at the four corners of a square. In this manner, the paper from the first printing unit can be guided to the paper ejection cylinder by two distinct selectible transport paths, only one of which includes the second printing unit's printing cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4426929
Abstract: A numbering device for use in an offset printing machine includes a numbering-impression cylinder which is swingably disposed beside a transfer drum in order to perform a numbering operation simultaneous with an ordinary printing operation and to concurrently perform vertical and/or lateral perforation operations. The offset printing machine comprises a transfer drum positioned beside a main impression cylinder which confronts a blanket cylinder to perform ordinary printing operation; a numbering-impression cylinder; a numbering box supporting cylinder positioned beside the numbering impression cylinder so as to form numbers on a printed sheet, an ink supply in contact with the numbering box supporting cylinder; a perforating device positioned in confrontation with the numbering impression cylinder to provide vertical or longitudinal perforations in the printed sheet; and a synchronous mechanism connected between the cylinders in order to cooperate with a numbering box advancing device.

  • Patent number: 4353297
Abstract: A number printing machine for use with an offset printing press in which, with only a single numbering device, both a present and a successive number printing operation in which a desired number is printed a desired number of times can be carried out. Either of the two printing modes of operation can be selected by one action. A counter is provided which counts the number of times of printing of a number up to a value set on a dial unit. Once the preset value has been reached, a solenoid is actuated in response to which the number to be printed is changed to the next succeeding number.
