  • Patent number: 5656498
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for manufacturing freeze-dried blood cells, stem cells and platelets comprising the steps of: pre-treating a liquid selected from the group consisting of blood including blood cells, bone marrow fluid (hemopoietic stem cells), and platelets in blood plasma, with a solution containing at least one substance selected from the group consisting of saccharide, biopolymer, acid and acid salt; conducting granulation of the aforementioned pre-treated liquid into a granules of a predetermined size; performing rapid cooling of the granules; and drying the resultant frozen material by sublimation of the water content contained therein.

  • Patent number: 5373333
Abstract: An image of a text displayed on a flat display is reflected by a half mirror so that a speaker is allowed to see the reflected image in the direction in which he faces the audience. A document of the text to be displayed is prepared as character code data of a frame configuration, and a display controller controls the scroll or page updating of the display screen in accordance with a control instruction from a control panel.

  • Patent number: 5119359
Abstract: A beam of light emitted from a light source and then modulated is focused through a write head onto a surface of a substrate which is coated with a photosensitive material and is rotated at a predetermined constant rotational speed. The write head and the substrate are displaced relatively in the radial direction of the substrate. While an optical axis of the beam of light is displaced in the direction in which the relative displacement speed between the write head and the substrate is decreased or increased, the substrate is exposed in such a way that a locus of a first turn or wind of predetermined tracks or pit arrays is recorded. Thereafter, while the substrate is rotated at the constant rotational speed, during the next rotation of the substrate the projection of the beam of light is interrupted and the optical axis of the beam of light is returned to its initial position.
