    Abstract: According to an embodiment, a battery pack includes an initial state estimation unit, a temperature estimation unit, and a determination unit. The internal state estimation unit estimates an internal state of a secondary battery based on measurement data. The temperature estimation unit estimates the temperature of the secondary battery based on the measurement data and the estimation parameter. The determination unit compares an absolute value of a temperature difference between a measured temperature of the secondary battery contained in the measurement data and the estimated temperature with one or more temperature threshold levels, and determines a temperature state of the secondary battery in accordance with a comparison result.

    Abstract: According to an embodiment, a particle beam treatment system includes a storage, an estimator, a target value generator, and a particle beam treatment device. The storage stores therein a respiratory movement model obtained by synchronizing amount of displacement of an affected area of a subject with a signal related to respiration of the subject and performing modeling. The estimator estimates, based on the measured signal related to respiration and the respiratory movement model, amount of displacement of the affected area corresponding to the measured signal. The target value generator generates a target value, which is used for performing movement control on a platform on which the subject is lying down, corresponding to the estimated amount of displacement of the affected area. The particle beam treatment device irradiates, with particle beams, the affected area of the subject on the platform subjected to movement control according to the target value.

    Abstract: According to an embodiment, a calculation apparatus includes a first calculator, a second calculator and a third calculator. The first calculator performs a regression analysis to calculate internal state parameters including a quantity of active material and an initial charged capacity of at least the first electrode. The second calculator calculates, based on the internal state parameters, an upper limit charged capacity in a predetermined range based a charged capacity at which an open circuit voltage of the rechargeable battery reaches an upper limit voltage. The third calculator changes the quantity of active material of the first electrode to a fixed value, and recalculates the initial charged capacity of the first electrode used on the fixed value and the upper limit charged capacity.

    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a battery pack includes a battery module that houses unit cells, a heat storage portion including a heat storage container that houses a heat storage member, cooling passages through which heat of the heat storage portion is spread and discharged, and a cooling source that cools the heat storage portion. The heat storage member absorbs heat when changing from solid to liquid and dissipates heat when changing from liquid to solid. The heat storage container is thermally connected to the battery module. The cooling source is driven to circulate cooling medium to the cooling passages, and heat of the heat storage portion discharged through the passages are discharged to the outside.
