  • Patent number: 8774547
Abstract: A contour correcting device which includes a plurality of delay elements which delay an input video signal, a pixel-selection-control-signal generation circuit, a pixel selection circuit which selects outputs of the plurality of delay elements in response to outputs of the pixel-selection-control-signal generation circuit, a high-pass filter operation circuit and an adder circuit which adds an operation result of the high-pass filter operation circuit to the input video signal. When the pixel selection circuit extracts a contour component in a boundary portion between a horizontal video effective period and a period other than the horizontal video effective period of the input video signal, the pixel selection circuit replaces pixel data in the period other than the horizontal video effective period among pixel data input to the high-pass filter operation circuit, with pixel data at an edge-point of the horizontal video effective period.

  • Patent number: 8570337
Abstract: Color correction according to the present disclosure performs correction by adding a predetermined correction value to an input value of a component to be corrected, which is one of a plurality of components for representing a color with a predetermined color space, and outputs a corrected value. The color correction includes calculating an unadjusted correction value based on the input value; and adjusting the unadjusted correction value calculated in the calculating the unadjusted correction value so that the corrected value does not decrease with an increase in the input value, and outputting the adjusted value as the predetermined correction value.

  • Publication number: 20110234622
Abstract: Complicated adjustment, such as adjusting hue and saturation by varying value for each hue in which hue correction and saturation correction are performed on only an input having a specific value of a specific color component, is performed. In a color space including hue Hi, saturation Si, and value Vi, calculating a hue correction value HVh and a saturation correction value HVs by using the hue Hi and the value Vi as parameters allows the hue correction and the saturation correction to be performed based on the value and completely independently for hue axes of the hue. The correction value calculating circuit scale has no influence on the complexity of the correction. It is possible to calculate the correction values by a certain circuit scale no matter how complicated the correction is.

  • Publication number: 20110134328
Abstract: A video processing apparatus includes: a skin color region detection device that detects a skin color region in one frame from hue/saturation/brightness signals; a skin color area calculation device that calculates the skin color area of one frame based on the skin color region detection result; a gamma correction control device that generates a gamma correction control signal for a luminance signal based on the skin color area calculation result; a gamma correction device that performs gamma correction according to the gamma correction control signal for the luminance signal; a color space transform device that transforms the gamma-corrected luminance signal and color-difference signals to the hue/saturation/brightness signals; a skin color correction device that corrects only the skin color based on the transformed signals; a color space inverse transform device that inverse-transforms the corrected hue/saturation/brightness signals to color signals; and a video display device that displays the color signal

  • Patent number: 6545725
Abstract: In order that such a signal as is conventionally determined to be a standard signal in the unit of one field and determined to be a non-standard signal in the unit of a plurality of fields can be determined to be a non-standard signal, the following are provided: a clock generating circuit for generating a clock of a frequency being a constant multiple of the color carrier frequency; a register for setting the clock count of one field section of a standard signal; a vertical counter for counting the number of clocks generated by the clock generating circuit, and being reset when the clock count reaches the value of the register; and a flip-flop receiving the counter output as the input and using an external vertical synchronizing signal as a load hold pulse.
