  • Patent number: 6072981
Abstract: There is provided a multi-drop distribution apparatus capable of installed in small space and of allowing transmission of large currents, the distribution apparatus having the same characteristics of a coaxial cylinder. A housing (1) has on its inner wall a groove (6a) interposed between a cable connecting portion (3) and a main line connection terminal (5b). The cable connecting portion (3) and the terminal (5b) are interconnected by a conductive rod (6) disposed in the groove (6a) without being in contact with the inner wall of the groove (6a). A dielectric block (7) is penetrated by the conductive rod (6a) so as to be slidable in the groove (6a).

  • Patent number: 5833481
Abstract: There is provided a multi-drop distribution apparatus capable of securely connecting a transmission cable thereto without opening a case and of allowing safe transmission of large currents. A housing (1) has formed on its inner wall block securing recesses (9b). A split tube (8) provided on an end of a transmission line is gripped in a pair of grip blocks (9) each having a support groove (9a) on a split surface. The grip blocks (9) are disposed in a block securing recesses (9b) and secured by tightening a screw (9c) at a side through a screw access hole (3c).

  • Patent number: 5442349
Abstract: A navigation system for vehicle is provided with a route determination process by which a route is determined intersection by intersection. When a starting point and driving direction are input, a road is selected, determined as the route to take, and indicated as the route on a display. A further road, of the same category as the road determined, is determined as a further route. Automatic route determination is thus consecutively effected from the starting point toward a destination. When cancellation of the determined route is instructed, the route is canceled intersection by intersection. When the cancellation is finished or if no road can be selected, the navigation system resumes its operation recognizing the end of the determined route newly as starting point.

  • Patent number: 5430653
Abstract: A navigation system for a vehicle is provided with a route determination process by which a road is selected and determined as a route according to a designated starting point and a driving direction. The route is indicated on a road map displayed on a screen, and stored. Further routes are automatically determined, intersection by intersection, according to the category of the road determined earlier as a route. Cancellation of the route thus determined is performed intersection by intersection and reported to a user by erasion of the route indication. The road map displayed on the screen always places the last intersection on the determined and uncanceled route at its center, thereby allowing the user to confirm the proceeding of the route determination and the route cancellation process.

  • Patent number: 5414629
Abstract: A navigation system includes a display, a map data storage device, a display control device, an intersection numbering device, a number indication control device, an intersection number input device, and a route determination device. The intersection numbering device prepares intersection numbers with respect to each intersection included in map data stored in the map data storage device. The number indication control device identifies each intersection on a road map displayed on a screen by indicating each displayed intersection with a respective intersection number. A user can specifically designate desired route intersections by inputting the corresponding intersection numbers indicated on the screen. Thus, a desired route can be readily and correctly determined. Since the map data does not originally contain the intersection numbers, the map data is small in volume, and a wide variety of map data, such as those with a different display color or layout, can be used for the navigation system.

  • Patent number: 5408415
Abstract: A navigation system for motor vehicles determines a pie-shaped sector zone for triggering an indication of a route intersection on a displayed road map. The zone is defined by a pie-shaped sector of a circle having the intersection at its center, and provided with a radius determined with respect to the velocity of the vehicle. When the vehicle enters the zone corresponding to the vehicle's velocity, it is determined that the vehicle is approaching the intersection, and a next intersection to be passed by the vehicle is indicated on the road map. The driver can thus be guided along a predetermined route.

  • Patent number: 5398189
Abstract: A navigation system for motor vehicles determines a plurality of zones for determining the approach of the vehicle to a route intersection. The zones are pie-shaped sectors of circles having the next intersection at its center and having radii that vary with respect to the vehicle velocity. The zones lie along an approach course the vehicle takes in approaching the next intersection. When the vehicle enters any one of the zones thus determined, one of the zones is selected according to the current velocity of the vehicle such that the higher the vehicle velocity is, the larger the radius of the circle corresponding to the selected zone is. The driver is then informed that the vehicle is approaching the intersection and is informed of the direction to take at the intersection.
