Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a contents replay system capable of replaying desired contents at a specified place. The contents replay system includes a registration unit which registers location information indicating a specific location and contents information indicating contents to be replayed at the specific location designated by a user, a detection unit which detects that the contents replay system is currently located at the specific location and a replay unit which replay the contents at the specific location detected by the detection unit.

Abstract: A data processing apparatus of the present invention includes an apparatus body and a portable terminal connectable to the apparatus body as a keyboard. The portable terminal is separable from the apparatus body and is operable as a data terminal alone. The portable terminal functions as a keyboard and a storage when mounted to the apparatus body. The apparatus is easy to carry and capable of sharing, e.g., schedule data with a desk-top personal computer.

Abstract: In a code compressing system for determining a quantizing step of a image compressing code, a second DCT calculating portion performs a DCT calculation for each element reduced and divided by a picture dividing portion. A second quantizing portion quantizes the calculated result with the maximum value of quantizing steps of an applicable system. A third quantizing portion quantizes the calculated result with the minimum value of the quantizing steps of the applicable system. A code amount controlling portion determines the difference between the code amounts generated by the second quantizing portion and the third quantizing portion for each element divided by the picture dividing portion and obtains an optimum quantizing step corresponding to the determined result, the target compressing ratio, and the target encoding bit rate. A first quantizing portion quantizes the calculated result of a first DCT calculating portion with the optimum quantizing step determined by the code amount controlling portion.

Abstract: In a structure composed having a one-bit counter, a D-FF, a selector, and an AND gate, while the signal level of a thin-out signal is low, a read clock signal of a line memory is thinned out. Thus, video signals (a Y signal, a CR signal, and a CB signal) read from a line memory are horizontally magnified. At this point, both edges of a low portion of the input thin-out signal are synchronized with even number data of color difference signals (CR/CB) read from the line memory after a start signal that is a video signal read start signal is input.

Abstract: In a color picture synthesizer, an effective display area is predetermined. An intensity of a designated color in the area is compared to a maximum value and a minimum value. A chroma-key is generated for each intensity value within the range of the maximum value and the minimum value.
