Patent number: 5249025Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a cleaning member which frictionally contacts magnetic particles on a magnet roller with an image bearing member in order to remove foreign matter adhered to the image bearing member, thereby preventing the deteriorating of the image quality. The magnet roller rotates slowly so that a portion thereof opposed to the image bearing member is moved in the same direction as a moving direction of the image bearing member. This prevents the toner from overflowing and scattering out of the cleaning member. Further, when non-magnetic toner is used, by providing a toner cavity on the magnet roller, the scattering of the non-magnetic toner can be prevented, whereby parts inside the apparatus are prevented from being contaminated by the toner.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 1992Date of Patent: September 28, 1993Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Nobuo Nakazawa, Akimitsu Hoshi, Nobuyuki Kume

Patent number: 4982239Abstract: An image forming apparatus having a moving image bearing member on which a latent image is formed and developed into a visible image and a reciprocating cleaning device, such as a blade or roller, arranged to press against the surface of the image bearing member and reciprocate in a direction transverse to its movement. A suitable expendient is provided to change the reciprocating motion, e.g. by stopping it, slowing it or increasing its stroke, during latent image formation to minimize vibrations and resultant image blurs while providing good cleaning.Type: GrantFiled: August 3, 1988Date of Patent: January 1, 1991Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Nobuyuki Kume, Yoshihiro Murasawa

Patent number: 4494168Abstract: A pair of laminated metallized films is convolutely wound into a roll. The metallized area of each dielectric film is segmented into a plurality of longitudinally spaced apart metallized areas which are connected together to an electrode. The separation between successive metallized areas is in a range from 0.1 mm to 5.0 mm and the interval between successive separations is from 10 mm to 500 mm to assure a 100% guaranty. A first of the metallized areas extends transversely from a first non-metallized marginal area to the opposite edge of a first dielectric film. A second of the metallized areas extends transversely from the second non-metallized marginal area to the opposite edge of a second dielectric film. First and second electrodes are respectively connected to edges of the first and second metallized areas.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 1982Date of Patent: January 15, 1985Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Company, LimitedInventors: Nobuyuki Kume, Harumi Yoshino, Miyuki Nagaoka
