  • Publication number: 20120006658
Abstract: A telescoping conveyor for particulate materials, particularly agricultural materials, uses an elongate support frame to support a telescoping conveyor. A top tube section is telescopically connected to a bottom tube section, the top tube section sliding over the bottom tube section and being supported by the support frame. The bottom and top tube sections respectively have inlet and discharge ends. A conveyor belt runs inside the bottom and top tube sections and has a return portion exteriorly of the tube sections. A belt take up mechanism is positioned in the belt return portion and has direction change rollers affixed to the support frame and to the top tube member and movable therewith in order to maintain belt tension in all telescoping positions of the conveyor.

  • Patent number: 6505760
Abstract: A seed dispensing apparatus comprises a support frame adapted to receive a separate seed bin and with a down spout positioned within the support frame and connected to a delivery conveyor for transporting seed from the bin to a seeder implement. A seal arrangement in the support frame substantially eliminates leakage of expensive seed from the seed bin. The seal arrangement consists of upper and lower telescoping seal parts which are spring biased to an extended position so that when the seed bin is placed on the support frame, the outlet of the seed bin bears against the seal arrangement which is kept in tight engagement with the outlet to prevent seed leakage.

  • Patent number: 6068103
Abstract: An extension or companion conveyor is used with a primary conveyor to convey grain or other granular materials. The companion conveyor swings into a lesser angle than the primary conveyor, which may be at a relatively steep angle to convey grain into a tall bin. The companion elevator travels at a high rate relative to the primary conveyor to provide an accelerator function. A mounting mechanism between the companion and primary conveyors includes a swing arm pivotally connected in its opposite ends so as to swing the companion conveyor from end to end abutment with the primary conveyor forwardly and outwardly to a stored/transport position parallel to the primary conveyor. A slip connection in the mounting mechanism allows the angle of the companion conveyor relative to the primary conveyor to vary as it is folded against the primary to reduce the pushing force necessary to be applied by an operator during the first half of travel of the swing arm.
