  • Patent number: 7073870
Abstract: A bit holder for a ploughing bit, particularly a bottom bit of a coal plough, includes an insert pocket 12 which is open at the top side 11 for receiving and supporting a bit stem of the ploughing bit and which pocket 12 is bounded on its edges by two lateral supporting walls 20, 30, a front supporting wall 13 and a rear supporting wall 14 with the rear supporting wall 14 projecting above the front supporting wall 13. In order to minimise the wear effect on the contact surfaces between bit stem and bit holder, the lateral supporting wall 20 facing away from the working face when the plough is in use projects above the front supporting wall 13 and the other lateral supporting wall 30 and forms an extended lateral support for the bit stem with respect to the other supporting wall 30.

  • Patent number: 7070040
Abstract: Toggles are disclosed for toggle connections of conveyor pans of a chain scraper conveyor or conveyor troughs of a mining machine guide. In providing a toggle and a toggle connection, with which high axial forces can be transmitted while, at the same time, maintaining high angular mobility of the pans and troughs, shoulder areas of the toggle are designed so as to be spherical. Because of the spherical design of the shoulder areas, the vertical mobility of adjoining conveyor pans is improved while at the same time the transmission of axial tensile forces to the toggle heads is optimized.

  • Publication number: 20050150667
Abstract: The invention relates to a bit holder for a ploughing bit of a coal or extraction plough, with an insert pocket open on the top side for receiving a bit shank formed on the ploughing bit. The pocket is bounded by two lateral supporting walls, a front and a rear supporting wall, whereby the rear supporting wall has an elevated section projecting over the adjoining, lateral supporting walls. The rear supporting wall forming a bit support for the ploughing bit slopes down to its outer regions. In order to allow a good support for an inserted bit and easy and fast installation of the bit the front face of the rear supporting wall is fitted on the outer regions with guiding surfaces sloping down inwards to the insert pocket as an installation aid for the ploughing bit.

  • Publication number: 20050151412
Abstract: A plough for underground mining, more specifically a coal plough, which plough has a plough body that is guided along a plough guide, whereas said plough body has at least one foot piece which receives a sliding skid. The sliding skid has at least one contact surface formed on its underside, which sliding surface slides on a rail of said plough guide when said sliding skid is in its operating position. According to the invention, said sliding skid has at least one wear inlay on an underside of said sliding skid, which wear inlay is preferably arranged in the area of the highest load. The sliding skid that is provided with the wear inlay according to the invention can withstand the high mechanical loads for a longer period of use than hitherto-known runners.

  • Publication number: 20040222067
Abstract: The subject matter of the present invention relates to mining operations and, in particular, to toggles for toggle connections of conveyor pans of a chain scraper conveyor or for conveyor troughs of a mining machine guide, in particular a plow guide. Toggles 10 have two toggle heads 13 which are connected in one piece with each other via a shaft 12, the width of which is tapered, on which toggle heads, on the side facing shaft 12, shoulder areas 11 that are oriented so as to slope downwardly toward shaft 12 are disposed. To make available a toggle and a toggle connection, with which high axial forces can be transmitted while, at the same time, maintaining a high angular mobility of the pans and troughs, shoulder areas 11 of the toggle are designed so as to be spherical, in particular spherically rounded.

  • Patent number: 5161671
Abstract: A transfer station for transfer of material from a longwall face to the gate or roadway employs a box frame uniting a scraper-chain face conveyor with a scraper-chain gate or roadway conveyor. An opening in the tray of the face conveyor inside the box frame allows material to pass from the top run of the face conveyor to the top run of the gate conveyor. A plate like pivotal supporting element is mounted so as to be adjustable from a stowage position into a set out position and vice versa. In the set out position the support element bridges over the opening in the tray and therefore prevents a collision between the scraper-chain assemblies of the face and gate conveyors during the return of the face conveyor.
