  • Patent number: 5022855
Abstract: An intraoral orthodontic applicator of directional force to molars or bucuspids in the upper or lower row of teeth has collars which can be cemented to the misoriented teeth, a substantially trough-shaped brace which overlies and conforms to the profiles of two or more anterior teeth in the respective row of teeth, and an arch wire which is separably coupled to the brace and is separably connected to the collars. The wire stores energy or is combined with resilient elements to apply a directional force which urges the brace against the adjacent anterior teeth and/or to apply a directional force which urges the collars and hence the corresponding molars or bicuspids in desired directions.
