  • Patent number: 7874277
Abstract: A reciprocating engine includes a combustion chamber, and a gas exchange inlet valve and a gas exchange outlet valve for a charge cycle. The method introduces an inlet gas into the combustion chamber in an intake phase; introduces a primary quantity of fuel into the combustion chamber during the intake phase and/or a compression phase; compresses the inlet gas and the fuel in the compression phase; ignites a mixture of inlet gas and fuel formed in the combustion chamber; and expands and discharges an exhaust gas formed by the combustion in an expansion phase. A pilot quantity of fuel is introduced into the combustion chamber before the primary quantity of fuel is introduced.

  • Publication number: 20100235120
Abstract: Device and system for measuring the power consumption of individual power consumers in an office and the like. A simple device provides coupling to the respective consumer and sends the signal originating therefrom, with the aid of preferably ZigBee technology, to a central receiver, where it is processed. If appropriate, feedback is provided to the respective consumer. The central processing unit can not only be configured to provide information about the respective consumption to the consumer of the system but can also be programmed to display a comparison with the desired consumption. If appropriate, separate consumers can each be displayed. A circuit can be provided wherein the passage of power to one of the users is disconnected if a specific power consumption or the like is exceeded. It is also possible, for example for an energy company, to disconnect and connect a consumer which is coupled to the device remotely.

  • Publication number: 20020052758
Abstract: The present invention provides the creation and the sale of a unique stand-alone right that entitles the holder to purchase event tickets. The right can be created and distributed to a holder by an entertainment entity, entered into a commodity exchange system, transferred to a new holder (if sold by the current holder), and converted into at least one event ticket (if so elected by the holder of the right). The disclosure presents an exemplary embodiment in which a right is distributed to a season ticket and to the general public. The right is entered into a secure register, and the holder can generate or accept quotes for selling the right. If sold, the right is transferred to the new holder. The current holder can exercise the right at a cutoff date in which the right is converted into at least one ticket for post-season games.

  • Patent number: 6332603
Abstract: Assembly mounts are stochastically or periodically detuned by changing their spring rate in order to prevent the transient effect of stuttering vibration of the drive assembly of a motor vehicle. The adjustment of the spring rate by at least a factor of 5 takes place for a time period which corresponds to no more than one fifth of the vibration duration of the stuttering movement.

  • Publication number: 20010034687
Abstract: Market liquidity for service-based commodities is established by fixing contract maturity dates and directing spot market trades to these fixed dates. Service contracts have the following characteristics: a specific duration during which the service is to be provided, a specific service quality, a specific service delivery date, a specific service maturity date and a specific delivery location. The contract maturity dates are consistent with forward contract delivery dates, preferably, monthly or quarterly. Unlike a traditional goods-based futures contract, each forward contract, after delivery, does not stop trading but continues to trade on spot markets until maturity. Market information for each type of service contract is provided to users of an exchange system, preferably implemented within a publicly available network, such as the Internet or World Wide Web. Based on this market information, users may submit quote proposals (e.g., bid or offers) or quote acceptances.

  • Patent number: 6302783
Abstract: Air-conditioning device includes a holder which is to be arranged against the wall of the room and is provided with a top wall, front wall, side walls, base and rear wall. An opening for the supply of fresh air form the environment is arranged in the rear wall. An air-inlet opening for the air from the room is arranged in the base, while an air-outlet opening is arranged on the top side. The supply of fresh air and inlet opening emerge in a first chamber in which a fan is arranged. A HEPA filter is connected to this chamber. A control device is provided in order to control the ratio between the fresh air flowing in and the air from the room in question.

  • Patent number: 6158397
Abstract: In order to reduce the soot content of a diesel engine's exhaust gas, a fluid containing a peroxide compound, preferably an aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution, is fed into the combustion chamber after the start of the injection and combustion of the fuel, preferably following the combustion phase. The diesel fuel is preferably injected in the range 10.degree..+-.5.degree. before top dead center and the fluid containing the peroxide compound is fed in the range 5.degree. to 30.degree. after top dead center. Use may be made for the alternate supply of diesel fuel and hydrogen peroxide of a shared injection nozzle (FIG. 1) which supplies one or other of the media depending on the pressure of the diesel fuel and hydrogen peroxide solution supplied.
