  • Patent number: 8613473
Abstract: A plug-in connection for hydraulic lines and machines, in particular for use on motor vehicles, has a receiving part and a complementary associated plug-in part which is sealed off from the receiving part in the final assembled position. When the plug-in part is inserted into the receiving part, a spring-elastic securing element, which is fitted captively and in a prestressed manner as a spring force storage device on the receiving part in a pre-assembly position, is displaced by the plug-in part relative to the receiving part in such a way that, when the final assembled position is reached, its stored spring force is released by the joining movement itself and the securing element latches in a force-fitting manner between bearing surfaces of the receiving part and of the plug-in part.

  • Patent number: 4592438
Abstract: An assembly of a master brake cylinder and an associated power cylinder of larger diameter, disposed in front of the dashboard, is held together under tension by a stirrup-shaped retainer with a bight embracing the free end of the master cylinder and two legs anchored to the dashboard, these legs traversing the power cylinder. A roll membrane inside the power cylinder, forming a flexible partition that divides its interior into two chambers between which a pressure difference is developed to operate the master cylinder, has cuffs attached to two guide tubes rigid with at least one wall of the power cylinder, these tubes being traversed by the retainer legs.

  • Patent number: 4586580
Abstract: An assembly of a master brake cylinder and an associated power cylinder of larger diameter, disposed in front of the dashboard of an automotive vehicle with an extension traversing that dashboard, is held together by a flexible retainer such as a strap or a wire embracing the master cylinder and at least part of the outer periphery of the power cylinder under tension. The extremities of the retainer may be anchored directly to the dashboard and its center part is braced against the front end of the master cylinder by an adjustable tensioning device.

  • Patent number: 4531452
Abstract: A transmitter cylinder is used in a hydraulic system and particularly the ake system of an automotive vehicle. To prevent undesired access into the transmitter cylinder, a lock part is installed at the pedal facing end of the cylinder. The lock part is an annulus. The pedal connected piston extends through the lock part and into the transmitter cylinder. The annular lock part is shaped so that its inner bore will guide and center the piston projecting into the cylinder. A locking element for holding the lock part in the cylinder bore is defined. It is either a radial projection from the lock part or it is a retaining ring held in a groove on the exterior of the lock part. In either case, the locking element projects into a groove defined in the interior of the cylinder bore, which retains the lock part in the cylinder bore against undesired extraction. The lock part may be a hollow annulus or a solid body. The lock part is appropriately configured to permit its extraction with appropriate tools.

  • Patent number: 4491204
Abstract: A disk brake comprises a caliper housing adapted to fit over the edge of a brake disk rotatable about an axis, a pair of brakeshoes in the housing axially flanking the disk and each having a brake pad turned toward the respective face of the disk and a backing plate turned away therefrom, and an actuator in the housing and engaging the backing plates for urging the brakeshoes together against the disk. The backing plates are formed with respective axially throughgoing brakeshoe passages and the housing is formed with respective housing passages in line with the brakeshoe passages. The brake further has a spring compressed axially between the brakeshoes and having respective legs extending toward the shoes, respective pusher portions extending from the legs and lying flatly against the backing plates, and respective guide portions extending from the pusher portions and extending axially through the respective brakeshoe passage and housing passage.

  • Patent number: 4429531
Abstract: A brake or clutch master cylinder has a slightly stepped bore with angularly equispaced grooves extending from the large diameter step into the small diameter step across the seal of the piston in its rest position. The fluid reservoir communicates with a groove of the large diameter step via a radial port.

  • Patent number: 4423597
Abstract: A hydraulic brake assembly with pneumatic power assist has a master cylinder inserted in a housing in turn at least partially surrounded by an annular power-booster device comprising a pair of annular chambers divided by a membrane. The membrane is connected via a plate and a sleeve or tie rods to a tension rod axially traversing a substantial portion of the master cylinder. The tension rod engages an actuator piston placed in compression by a push rod upon the actuation of a brake pedal linked thereto. The force for actuating a fluid-compression piston in the master cylinder is thus transmitted thereto partly via tension-stressed elements and partly via compression-stressed elements. Force feedback to the brake pedal is implemented either hydraulically via fluid-flow channels in the tension rod or mechanically via a lever inside or outside the housing. A fluid reservoir is removably mounted on the housing in juxtaposition to the booster chambers and transversely to the housing axis.
