Patent number: 7846136Abstract: The invention relates to a gripping edge (1) for a syringe with: a sleeve (7) with a first opening (9) for attachment to a barrel (2) of the syringe and a second opening (10). The gripping edge (1) comprises a flange (8) that is attached to the sleeve (7) at a distance from the first opening (9). A large number of catches (11), which project radially toward the inside from the inside wall (21) of the sleeve (7), are provided to engage in a groove attached to an outside surface of the barrel (2) or projections (13) and to fasten the sleeve (7) and, over this, the gripping edge (1) to the barrel (2), whereby a considerable number of openings, in particular a considerable number of lengthwise openings (14) and/or a considerable number of transverse openings (15), are cut out in the sleeve (7). As a result, a locking of the gripping edge (1) to the barrel (2) in the case of lower assembly forces is possible, by which a bursting tendency of the barrel (2), in particular during assembly, is considerably reduced.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2006Date of Patent: December 7, 2010Assignee: Bayer Schering Pharma AktiengesellschaftInventor: Norbert Witowski

Publication number: 20060069356Abstract: The invention relates to a plunger for a syringe that has a barrel. The plunger has a core element (8) with a peripheral surface (20). The plunger has a ring element (11) with an outer peripheral surface (21) that surrounds the core element (8) at a distance. The ring element (11) is coated on its outer peripheral surface (21) with a lubricating material (22). The core element (8) and the ring element (11) are connected to one another by arms (19).Type: ApplicationFiled: August 24, 2005Publication date: March 30, 2006Inventor: Norbert Witowski

Patent number: 6872197Abstract: The invention relates to a reservoir (100) for dispensing free-flowing substances, which comprises the following features: (a) reservoir (100) has flexible reservoir walls (2 and 3); (b) reservoir walls (2 and 3) are one-piece or connected to one another; (c) reservoir walls (2 and 3) form a sealed container, which has at least one opening (12); (d) reservoir walls (2 and 3) are connected at least partially to at least two flat standing elements (6), which are separated in the standing area of reservoir walls (2 and 3); (e) opening (12) has a closure (13), whereby at least portions of reservoir walls (2 and 3) and/or standing elements (6) consist of a composite material, which (i) consists of plastic laminates, or (ii) consists of at least one plastic laminate and an aluminum laminate, here, the laminates are connected to one another. Reservoir (100) is provided preferably to accommodate contrast media.Type: GrantFiled: November 16, 1998Date of Patent: March 29, 2005Assignee: Schering AGInventor: Norbert Witowski

Patent number: 6497684Abstract: A syringe with a barrel for holding a fluid medium includes a sealing cap that is put on the outlet end of the barrel. The barrel in the section that can be inserted into the cap has a first locking element on the outside. The sealing cap in the corresponding section has interactive second locking elements on the inside. The sealing cap can thus be put onto barrel with little force and thus less cracking occurs. To facilitate locking, the cap has a large number of second locking elements that are arranged peripherally. In each case, an expansion section is provided in the wall of cap between each pair of adjacent locking elements.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 2001Date of Patent: December 24, 2002Assignee: Schering AktiengesellschaftInventor: Norbert Witowski

Publication number: 20020022806Abstract: A syringe with a cylinder (1) and a plunger (4) that slides into it is provided, which has a recess (13) in its front side (5) and at least two cylindrical sections (9, 10) on its barrel surface (6), between which a groove (12) reduces the diameter of plunger (4). The pressure that is applied in the syringe acts on outer side (14) of the recess and on an outside face section (15) in a gasket lip (16), which is pressed by this pressure or else by a previously introduced prestressing against the inside cylinder wall and thus seals the syringe contents from the environment.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 15, 2001Publication date: February 21, 2002Applicant: SCHERING AKTIENGESELLSCHAFTInventor: Norbert Witowski
