  • Patent number: 7392780
Abstract: A pulsating oil pressure reducing device 40 for an internal combustion engine has an oil chamber 41 for reducing pulsating oil pressure in a discharge passage 30 for carrying oil discharged from an oil pump 20. The oil chamber 41 communicates with the discharge passage 30 by way of a connecting port 41a1 and makes the oil stagnate therein. The oil chamber 41 is connected to the discharge passage 30 by an air vent passage 45 through which air is discharged from the oil chamber 41 into the discharge passage 30. The air vent passage 45 has an inlet port 45a opening into a top part 41a of the oil chamber 41 and a discharge port 45b opening into the oil passage 30 at a level above the inlet port 45a. Since the pulsating oil pressure reducing device 40 having the air vent passage separately from the connecting port, air can be efficiently discharged from the oil chamber and the degree of freedom of placement of the oil passage and the oil chamber is increased.

  • Publication number: 20060095776
Abstract: A switching control circuit monitors the results of decision by illegality decision circuit for the presence of an illegally copied content or contents. In the absence of an illegally copied content, the switching control circuit turns on switches to allow the transmission of contents on all of transmission lines to a multiplexing circuit. When an illegally copied content is detected by at least one of the illegality decision circuits, all the switches are turned off, interrupting the transmission of contents on all the lines to the multiplexing circuit. Thus, an illegally copied content is detected and interrupted prior to multiplexing, preventing a multiplexed signal from containing any illegally copied content.

  • Patent number: 6763794
Abstract: A through-bore is provided in an outer wall of a passage defining structure defining a liquid passage faced by at least a portion of a vibration generating section, and opens at its inner end into the liquid passage. A vibration absorbing device includes an occluding member mounted to the outer wall to occlude the through-bore, an elastic membrane with its one end facing the liquid passage and other end facing a space defined between the elastic membrane and the occluding member, and a retaining member mounted to the occluding member for retaining the elastic membrane between the retaining member and the occluding member. Thus, a variation in pressure of a liquid in the liquid passage which is induced by the vibration generated in the vibration generating section is absorbed by flexing of the elastic membrane, whereby an exciting force applied from the liquid to the passage defining structure is effectively reduced, and a vibration sound radiated from the passage defining structure is reduced.

  • Patent number: 6345569
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to effectively achieve the reduction in piston slap sound in both of an expansion stroke and a compression stroke in consideration of a difference between the behaviors of a piston in the expansion stroke and the compression stroke. For this purpose, in a piston P having a skirt 12 formed into an intermediately bulged barrel type, the axis L2 of a piston pin is offset with respect to the cylinder axis L1, and the decrement in radius of a lower skirt portion 20 is set to be large on a thrust side and small in an anti-thrust side. In the expansion stroke, the piston is positively swung, while the skirt 12 is put into abutment against a wall surface of a cylinder bore, thereby reducing the piston slap sound.

  • Patent number: 5964195
Abstract: A water-cooled type internal combustion engine includes a cylinder provided in a cylinder block of an engine body and having a piston slidably received therein, and a cooling water passageway defined in the engine body and including a cooling water portion surrounding the cylinder. In the water-cooled type internal combustion engine, a through-bore is provided at that portion of an outer wall of the engine body which faces the cooling water passageway, a vibration absorbing means is mounted to the outer wall surface of the engine body to close the through-bore. The vibration absorbing means includes a resilient membrane which is disposed so that its peripheral edge does not protrude from an inner surface of the outer wall into the cooling water passageway, and which has one surface facing the cooling water passageway and the other surface facing a space area.

  • Patent number: 5033443
Abstract: A pilot injection device for a fuel injection pump has an accumulate piston movable in response to a fuel pressure from a pressurizing chamber of the fuel injection pump to cause a pilot injection prior to a main injection by the pump. The device is provided with a back-pressure chamber filled with fuel and having a volume variable by the movement of the accumulate piston. Air trapped in the back-pressure chamber can be removed therefrom through a hole to improve the operation characteristic of the pilot injection device.

  • Patent number: 4815431
Abstract: Disclosed is an oil heating apparatus for an internal combustion engine, in which a heating unit for heating an oil is arranged adjacent to an oil pump on an oil path which extends from an oil pan to the oil pump of the internal combustion engine and allows the oil to pass therethrough, and energization of the heating unit is controlled by a heating control unit. When an oil having a high viscosity due to a low temperature is heated to increase the viscosity thereof, the load on the oil pump is reduced to allow an easy starting operation of the internal combustion engine at a low temperature.

  • Patent number: 4739670
Abstract: A backlash reducer for a gear transmission system comprises a main gear and an auxiliary gear which form one of a driving gear and a driven gear in mesh therewith of the gear transmission system. The main gear is mounted on a rotary shaft for rotation therewith, and the auxiliary gear is mounted on the rotary shaft for rotation relative thereto. A backlash reducing mechanism is operable in response to a centrifugal force due to rotation of the rotary shaft for angularly moving the main and auxiliary gears relative to each other to reduce a backlash between the driving and driven gears. The backlash reducer may further comprise a mechanism for restraining the backlash reducing action of the backlash reducing mechanism. Alternatively, the backlash reducer may comprise a first mechanism operable in response to the centrifugal force to move the auxiliary gear axially thereof and a second mechanism for converting the axial movement of the auxiliary gear to circumferential movement thereof.

  • Patent number: 4693133
Abstract: A system of lubricated gearing illustrated in the context of a motorcycle transmission. A lubricant vessel is provided to partially enclose the lower portion of the drive gear to deliver additional lubricant thereto. Walls extend radially outwardly adjacent to the drive gear to retain lubricant within the meshing area of the gears, reducing gear noise and impact shock between meshing gear teeth.
