  • Patent number: 4715796
Abstract: A scroll-type fluid transferring machine comprises a stationary scroll member and an oscillatable scroll member, each of which has a spiral wrap of an involute curve or other curves projecting from a base plate and which cooperate to form a compression chamber between the spiral wraps and the base plates by mutually fitting one into the other, an oscillatable scroll shaft provided on the surface of the base plate at the position opposite the spiral wrap of the oscillatable scroll member, a crank shaft having an eccentric recess having its axis which is shifted by a predetermined distance from the axis of the crank shaft, wherein a cylindrical bush having the coaxial outer and inner circles is loosely fitted in the eccentric recess of the crank shaft with a gap between the outer circumference of the bush and the inner wall of said eccentric recess, and the shaft of the oscillatable scroll member is fitted in the inner circumference of the bush in a freely rotatable manner.

  • Patent number: 4702681
Abstract: A scroll-type compressor including stationary and orbiting scrolls housed in a shell. A first frame, also housed in the shell, receives a portion of the orbiting scroll. The stationary scroll is fixed to the first frame, and a second frame is further mounted in the shell. A balancer chamber is formed between the first and second frames. A main shaft having a balancer is housed in the balancer chamber rotatably. The main shaft includes an enlarged diameter portion on one end of the shaft which is attached to the orbiting scroll and a small diameter portion on the end of the shaft which is attached to the orbiting scroll and extending between the first frame and the second frame for driving the orbiting scroll. A first bearing is disposed between the main shaft in the first frame for supporting the main shaft at a position between the orbiting scroll end of the shaft.

A first bearing is disposed between the main shaft and the first frame for supporting the main shaft at a position at the orbiting scroll end of the shaft. A second bearing is disposed between the main shaft and the second frame for supporting the main shaft at a position proximate the opposite end of the shaft.

  • Patent number: 4655697
Abstract: A scroll-type apparatus having an improved radial seal and a method for the assembly thereof is disclosed. The spiral wrap of a moving scroll and a stationary scroll are provided with gap adjusting means for providing a gap of a desired size between the top surface of the spiral wrap of each scroll and the top surface of the base plate of the opposing scroll. The gap adjustment means comprises a spiral-shaped elastic element which fits into a groove formed in the top surface of a spiral wrap or on top of a protrusion formed on the top surface of the spiral wrap. The elastic element is supported by the spiral wrap by friction.

  • Patent number: 4575320
Abstract: A scroll compressor having an improved lubricating structure so that lubricating oil is supplied substantially instantaneously after the compressor is started to bearings and other sliding members. An oil storage section is formed by a hole in an upper end portion of the main drive shaft and a communicating hole in a drive shaft of the orbiting scroll. A lubricating hole extending longitudinally through the main shaft communicates with the oil storage section via a pipe of a determined height so that lubricating oil is pooled in the oil storage section when the compressor is stopped.
