  • Publication number: 20010013989
Abstract: For a balance adjustment due to a reduction in size and weight of an actuator, an arm portion, an axis attaching portion, and a coil supporting portion are arranged so that the centers of gravity on the coil side are located on a straight line connecting a rotational center and the center of gravity on the head side. Further, the improvement of an assembling efficiency of a VCM, an increase in torque, a one-touch fixing of an FPC connecting band, a noise prevention of a read pattern, and an insulation between the base and cover due to a bias of an MR read head are accomplished. A sector mark is detected by comparing a peak detection pulse and its reference polarity signal. A redundancy is provided to a reference detection polarity signal so that a read signal can be detected even if any one of the read signals of the sector marks is dropped out.

  • Patent number: 6171225
Abstract: A finisher including a tray to enable the stacking of sheets; a leading end stopper, which projects from an upper surface of the tray, to contact and align an end face of a sheaf of sheets stacked in the tray; and a sheaf-conveying device, having a pair of rollers, to selectively nip (or engage) and convey a sheaf of sheets from the tray. Following an engagement by the sheaf-conveying device, the rollers are severally rotated to evenly convey an engaged sheaf of sheets while better protecting the alignment and appearance of such sheaf.

  • Patent number: 6102385
Abstract: A finisher includes an additional-working tray and a leading edge stopper and trailing edge stopper for aligning folded and unfolded sheets fed into the additional-working tray. The leading edge stopper contacts a leading edge of each sheet when it is fed into the additional-working tray. The trailing edge stopper is movable relative to the additional-working tray in accordance with a sheet length. The trailing edge stopper is adapted to align one or more sheets received in the additional-working tray relative to a discharge direction.

  • Patent number: 5041935
Abstract: A rotary actuator for positioning magnetic heads in a disk drive, comprising a stator assembly and a rotor assembly. An arm assembly having magnetic heads are fixed to the rotor assembly, which rotates back and forth within a limited angle range around a fixed axis of the rotary actuator due to the forces between plural magnets and driving current which flows though flat coils. Two flat coils are aranged on an arcuate inner surface of the stator such that two adjacent vertical parallel portions thereof closely contact with each other. Two flat coils have an electrical connection with a driving source that the currents through the two adjacently parallel portions flow in the same direction. Three permanent magnets are disposed on the rotor surface, the central magnet having a greater lateral width than that of other two side magnets, and a polarity of the central magnet is opposite to that of other magnets.

  • Patent number: 4855794
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a copy machine having a document feeding apparatus. The document feeding apparatus comprises a transport belt which includes a first belt transport portion and a second belt transport portion, both of which can be operable integrally or independently. When a plurality of copies are required to be formed from two kinds of different documents, i.e., a first document F and a plurality of second documents S, the second belt transport portion for transporting the second documents is operated independently of the first belt transport portion for transporting the first document. When a plurality of copies are required to be formed from one kind of documents, the first and second belt transport portions are integrally operated.

  • Patent number: 4143570
Abstract: A mechanism for withdrawing and cutting sheet from a storage roll thereof to predetermined lengths includes a feed roll driven by a clutch transferrable between engage and disengage conditions and a shaft rotatable single cycle cutting blade located forward of the feed roll. The shaft is spring biased in a blade sheet cutting forward direction and means are provided for loading the spring following its unloading. The shaft is releasably locked in a blade retracted position and is releasable by a first solenoid to effect a cutting cycle and a timing member rotatable with the shaft acts through a motion transmission to disengage the clutch and releasably lock it in disengage position at least during the cutting of the sheet. Following the cutting cycle, the clutch may be actuated to its engage position by the energization of a second solenoid. Alternatively, the clutch may be fully controlled by the second solenoid by a circuit network responsive to the positions of the timing member.
