  • Patent number: 6071657
Abstract: In a method for manufacturing a phosphor screen of a cathode ray tube, a first photo-resist layer is coated on an inner surface of a panel of the cathode ray tube except at predetermined locations. A second photo-resist layer dispersed with pigment particles is coated on the first photo-resist layer and at the predetermined locations. The second photo-resist layer is exposed at the predetermined locations from an opposite side of the panel. The first photo-resist layer is dissolved and the second photo-resist layer is removed from the first photo-resist layer so as to form a color filter layer at the predetermined locations. A phosphor layer is formed on the color filter layer.

  • Patent number: 5914558
Abstract: A phosphor screen (10) formed of respective color phosphor layers (9R), (9G), (9B) and respective color filter layers (4R), (4G), (4B) is formed on the inner surface of the panel (1). In that case, the respective color filter layers (4R), (4G), (4B) are respectively formed between the inner surface of the panel (1) and the phosphor layers (9R), (9G) and (9B). Therefore, the color cathode ray tube can be made high in contrast and in brightness.

  • Patent number: 5372903
Abstract: Respective phosphor layers (3R), (3G) and (3B) and a light absorption layer (2) are formed on the inner surface of a panel. An intermediate layer (11) is selectively formed on the surfaces of the respective phosphor layers by using a water soluble liquid having photosensitivity and containing water dispersion vinyl polymer emulsion and partial saponification polyvinyl acetate-system photosensitizer and then a metal-backing layer (12) is formed. A color purity of a phosphor screen can be increased and a brightness thereof can be improved.

  • Patent number: 5340673
Abstract: A method of forming a phosphor screen in which a color filter layer is formed between a phosphor layer and an inner surface of a panel having a slurry in which a fine particle pigment and transparent particles are dispersed into a photosensitive liquid coated on the inner surface of the panel. Then, the color filter layer is formed by exposure and development. When the color filter layer that constitutes one portion of a phosphor screen of a color cathode ray tube is formed in this manner, an adhesive force with which the color filter layer is bonded onto the panel can be increased and a transmittance of the color filter layer can be improved.

  • Patent number: 5324602
Abstract: A method for fabricating a cathode ray tube is described. The method comprises the steps of selectively forming a resist layer corresponding to a pattern of a fluorescent material on an inner surface of the panel of a cathode ray tube, and applying a slurry of a light-absorbing material on the entire inner surface of the panel including the resist layer to form a light-absorbing layer. An inorganic pigment slurry is applied over the entire inner surface of the panel to form an inorganic pigment layer on the light-absorbing layer and then subjected to reverse development to selectively remove the resist layer along with the light-absorbing layer and the white pigment layer, thereby forming a matrix pattern. Finally, a fluorescent material is applied to individual removed portions of the matrix pattern to form a fluorescent pattern. Monochromatic or color cathode ray tubes are obtained with an improved luminance and a colorimetric purity by a simple procedure.

  • Patent number: 4990417
Abstract: A method for forming a phosphor pattern on a panel of a cathode ray tube to prevent the peeling of a black matrix from the glass panel when treated with an inversion solvent which involves forming a protective film of a transparent photosensitive material on a glass panel on which a black matrix is formed and using the so-called outer surface exposure method to produce a color cathode ray tube having high definition.

  • Patent number: 4707635
Abstract: A cathode ray tube having a face plate including a fluorescent screen formed on the inner surface of the face plate. A conventional metal backing layer backs up the fluorescent screen. The improvements of the present invention are involved with the composition of the fluorescent material composition which includes fluorescent particles and not less than 0.6 parts by weight of SiO.sub.2 per 100 parts by weight of fluorescent particles in that portion of the material which contacts the face plate, the amount of SiO.sub.2 being insufficient to cause the brightness of the fluorescent particles to deteriorate, and not more than 0.3 parts by weight of SiO.sub.2 per 100 parts by weight of fluorescent particles in that portion of the fluorescent material which faces the metal backing layer.
