  • Patent number: 5269204
Abstract: A hydraulic control system for a vehicular automatic transmission includes a first servomotor, actuated by hydraulic pressure from a hydraulic pressure source, for engaging or releasing frictional engagement elements of the transmission; a second servomotor, actuated by the hydraulic pressure, for applying an engine brake; a manual valve and a shift valve, both connected between the hydraulic pressure source and the first and second servomotors, for controlling the hydraulic pressure; a cut-off valve interposed in a line extending between the manual valve and the shift valve; a solenoid valve for controlling the cut-off valve; and an electronic controller for receiving as inputs vehicular running conditions and a gear-shift mode and for outputting solenoid signals to control the shift valve and the cut-off valve responsive to the inputs. The controller outputs a solenoid signal to the cut-off valve to control communication between the manual valve and the shift valve through the line.

  • Patent number: 5005442
Abstract: A stepless transmission in which travel in two different shift regions is made possible by a main transmission unit constituting a stepless transmission mechanism and an auxiliary transmission unit coupled to the stepless transmission mechanism, and in which torque ratio is capable of being varied steplessly in response to signals indicative of detected vehicle traveling conditions. The transmission is equipped with a function which improves the feeling of a speed reduction, makes possible a smooth start and provides excellent accelerability, a function which assures that the vehicle will start moving forward reliably, a function which enhances brake durability, and a function enhances safety in the event of motor malfunction.

  • Patent number: 3981906
Abstract: Alkyl 4,4'-(ethylenedioxy)bis-benzoates having improved properties such as anti-oxidation and anti-coloration are prepared in high yield and selectivity by, at the first step, reacting an excess alkyl p-hydroxybenzoate with a recycling alkyl p-(2-chloro-ethoxy)benzoate with heating in the presence of an alkali carbonate and an inert organic solvent until almost said alkyl p-(2-chloroethoxy)benzoate is consumed to produce an alkyl 4,4'-(ethylenedioxy)bis-benzoate and at the second step adding ethylene dichloride to the reaction system and continuing the heating to produce an alkyl p-(2-chloroethoxy)benzoate which is recycled, and separating the alkyl 4,4'-(ethylenedioxy)bis-benzoate produced.
