  • Patent number: 8848003
    Abstract: Provided is a method of chromaticity adjustment of a display device including a drive circuit for generating a gray-scale signal corresponding to a video signal input from an external portion and supplying the gray-scale signal to a plurality of pixels, the method including: measuring chromaticity coordinates of an image displayed on the display device; determining whether the measured chromaticity coordinates are chromaticity coordinates within a first region that does not need a chromaticity correction or chromaticity coordinates within a second region that needs the chromaticity correction; determining, if the measured chromaticity coordinates are the chromaticity coordinates within the second region, which of a plurality of correction regions obtained by dividing the second region the chromaticity coordinates fall within; correcting the gray-scale signal corresponding to the video signal by using a chromaticity correcting portion corresponding to the determined one of the plurality of correction regions;

  • Publication number: 20120112988
    Abstract: Luminance ununiformity and color shading are prevented in a display area of an irregular hexagonal shape formed by cutting-off a corner from a rectangular shape. Sub-pixels are formed in each of regions surrounded by scanning lines and video signal lines and a set of sub-pixels by the number of three define one pixel. The display area is an irregular hexagonal shape containing a display area sloping portion of a shape formed by cutting-off a corner from a rectangular shape. In the display area sloping portion, the number of sub-pixels in the extending direction of the scanning lines changes uniformly for every sub-pixels by the number of three or by the number of a multiple thereof on each side of the display area for one scanning line. The magnitude of the video signal in the source driver can be controlled easily by uniformly changing the number of the sub-pixels.

  • Patent number: 7317612
    Abstract: A resin two-panel intergral-type holder holds first and second display panels of different sizes on two surfaces. The holder has a first bank-like rib which surrounds at least three sides of a periphery of the first display panel and defines first accommodating region and a second bank-like rib which surrounds at least three sides of a periphery of the second display panel and defines a second accommodating region. A conductive sheet member is formed on a first portion of another surface corresponding to the first accommodating region except for the second accommodating region and a second portion of another surface corresponding to the second accommodating region respectively. The conductive sheet member contacts another surface. A notch is formed in the second bank-like rib to electrically connect the first and second portions of the conductive sheet member.

  • Publication number: 20060209224
    Abstract: The present invention provides a display device and a manufacturing method of the display device which can reduce the breaking of a glass substrate attributed to fine cracks by combining a scribe-and-break method and a laser cutting method. Out of a pair of substrates, one substrate is mechanically scribed and another substrate is cut using a laser beam.

  • Publication number: 20050237443
    Abstract: There is provided a liquid crystal display device ensuring a luminance of a backlight and having a backlight-integrated type resin holder to which a plating has been adhered. A liquid crystal display device including a liquid crystal display panel, a backlight disposed to a back face of the liquid crystal display panel and having at least a light conductor, and a holder accommodating the liquid crystal display panel and the backlight, wherein the holder is a holder in which a 1st resin to which a plating can be applied and a 2nd white resin whose condition under which the plating adheres is different from the 1st resin have been molded in 2 colors, the plating is applied to the 1st resin, and the 2nd white resin to which no plating is applied is disposed to a side face of the light conductor. It is desirable that the 1st resin is a plastic alloy containing polycarbonate, and the 2nd resin is polycarbonate.

  • Publication number: 20050068717
    Abstract: The present invention can provide a display device provided with a two-panel integral-type holder having the EMI shielding structure. A two-panel integral-type holder is formed of a resin molded product and holds a first display panel on one surface thereof and a second display panel having a size smaller than a size of the first display panel on another surface thereof. Further, the two-panel integral-type holder has a first bank-like rib which surrounds at least three sides of a periphery of the first display panel and defines a first accommodating region and a second bank-like rib which is formed on another surface and surrounds at least three sides of a periphery of the second display panel and defines a second accommodating region. A conductive sheet member is formed on a first portion of another surface corresponding to the first accommodating region except for the second accommodating region and a second portion of another surface corresponding to the second accommodating region respectively.
