  • Patent number: 8928263
Abstract: A control apparatus in a motor drive system includes a magnet temperature acquiring device and a step-up ratio determining device. The magnet temperature acquiring device is configured to estimate or detect a temperature of a permanent magnet provided in a rotor or a stator of a motor of the motor drive system. The motor drive system includes a power supplying device to output direct current voltage, and a voltage step-up device to increase, at a certain step-up ratio, the direct current voltage which is output from the power supplying device. The step-up ratio determining device is configured to determine the certain step-up ratio in accordance with the temperature of the permanent magnet estimated or detected by the magnet temperature acquiring device.

  • Patent number: 7583041
Abstract: The present invention includes temperature transition estimating means 24, 25 for estimating a temperature transition of an electric motor 1 caused by the passage of electric current through the electric motor 1, an electric pump 8 as coolant supplying means for supplying a coolant to the electric motor, and coolant supply control means 26 to 28 for controlling the pump 8 according to the temperature transition of the electric motor 1 and the coolant temperature. The amount of operation of the electric pump 8 is determined from the temperature transition and the coolant temperature. This structure makes it possible to prevent overheating of the electric motor properly using the coolant while minimizing the energy consumption involved in using the coolant.

  • Patent number: 6965186
Abstract: An electric motor for a hybrid vehicle includes a rotor disposed and coupled between an internal combustion engine and a transmission, the rotor being coupled, at one end thereof in a direction of a rotation axis, to a crank shaft of the internal combustion engine and, at the other end, to the transmission via a drive plate; a through hole provided to extend in the direction of the rotation axis through the rotor; a fastening hole provided respectively in an end face of the crank shaft and in the drive plate to face, and be in communication with, the through hole; and a fastening member mounted in the through hole and in each of the fastening holes such that the rotor is fixed between the crank shaft and the drive plate. A desired performance is secured easily while preventing an excess increase in the cost for producing rotors.
