  • Patent number: 6154325
Abstract: A camera lens barrel includes a multiple thread screw mechanism that rotates a drive tube. Drive tube moves along an optical axis while rotating with respect to a fixed unit. Due to an action of a first cam during the rotation of the drive tube, a cam tube moves along the optical axis with respect to the drive tube. A first lens unit is integrated with the cam tube and rotates with respect to the cam tube. During rotation of the first lens unit, a second lens unit moves along the optical axis with respect to the cam tube due to an action of a second cam. The multiple thread screw mechanism inhibits movement of the drive tube along the optical axis until the drive tube is rotated to a predetermined angle of rotation.

  • Patent number: 5815749
Abstract: A camera capable of operating in a red-eye prevention mode. The camera has an electronic flash device which is activated by a drive circuit in synchronization with the exposure. The electronic flash device also serve as a pre-light-emission device capable of performing pre-light-emission for the purpose of preventing red-eye effect. When it is judged from the photographing condition that red-eye effect may occur, a controller activates the electronic flash device to effect a pre-light-emission for reducing the size of pupils of eyes of a person to be photographed, before the main flashing which is executed in synchronization with the exposure.

  • Patent number: 5802411
Abstract: This invention is applicable to a camera having a cartridge chamber into which a film cartridge is detachably insertable along its axis direction. The camera is equipped with a cartridge-load detection switch for outputting a load signal when the cartridge is loaded in the cartridge chamber, and outputting a non-load signal when the loaded cartridge is drawn out from the cartridge chamber by at least a predetermined amount. When the photographed cartridge is partially drawn out from the cartridge chamber and then reloaded into the cartridge chamber as it is, the output of the load signal is continued if the draw-out amount is below the predetermined amount, thereby preventing an erroneous judgment that a new cartridge is loaded into the cartridge chamber. Therefore, for example, the double exposure can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 5765058
Abstract: A camera having a multiple speed film driving mechanism that can accurately read film data on a film cartridge. The camera has a motor that drives a spool axis of the film cartridge, and a reading device that can read film data stored on a recording medium on the film cartridge. When the film cartridge is loaded into the camera, the reading device reads film data on the recording medium that is rotated together with the spool axis at a first speed. When film data reading is finished, the spool axis is rotated at a second speed to feed the film into the camera. A motor drive control circuit and CPU controls spool axis rotation at multiple speeds and directions.

  • Patent number: 5754909
Abstract: A camera includes a cartridge chamber in which a film cartridge is loaded, a spool chamber in which a take-up spool is mounted, and an aperture disposed between the cartridge the chamber and the spool chamber. The camera has a mechanism which feeds film out of the cartridge by rotating a spool shaft of the cartridge loaded in the cartridge chamber, and leads the film past the aperture to the take-up spool. The camera is further provided with a cartridge cover for concealing the cartridge chamber when it is closed and for exposing the cartridge chamber when it is open. A rear cover which is openably mounted on the rear side of the camera body, conceals the aperture and the spool chamber when it is closed and exposes the aperture and the spool chamber when it is open.

  • Patent number: 5678094
Abstract: The invention prevents film displacement without sacrificing the speedy photographic characteristics during the time of continuous photography. A part to prevent film displacement is moved to one of a contact position with a film and a removed position from the film. The part to prevent film displacement prevents a film displacement toward the direction of advancing film at the contact position. A driving device drives the part to prevent the film displacement. The photography control device carries out one time photography and the film advancement during the single mode setting and carries out the operation of photography and the film advancement alternately and repeatedly during the release operation. During the continuous photography mode setting, the device to control the film displacement controls the driving device and placed the part to prevent film displacement in the removed position only at the time of the film advancement after photography.
