Abstract: An information providing terminal 3 notifies a mobile information terminal 1 of an item and a ciphered information body when a circuit between the mobile information terminal 1 and the information providing terminal 3 is not busy. The mobile information terminal 1 displays only the items to a user and, when the user selects one of them which is necessary, requests the information providing terminal 3 to send a deciphering key for the selected information. The information providing terminal 3 charges for the information notified to the mobile information terminal 1 by utilizing the request of the deciphering key from the mobile information terminal 1. Thus, it is provided an information providing system capable of charging on the basis of an amount of pure data of the notified information, with reduction of a waiting time up to a time at which the user reads the information and a load of a network.

Abstract: Portable telephone capable of automatically receiving data without any operation to accept an incoming call by a user on an incoming call of data communication. The portable telephone comprises means for automatically identifying the communication mode on reception of an incoming call if the portable telephone is preset to an automatic receiving mode of the data communication, a plurality of communication control means each for one of a plurality of different communication modes, switching means for selecting any one of communication control means corresponding to the identified communication mode, and storing means for storing and saving received data. It informs the user the received data is stored at the data communication mode. The received and stored data is forwarded to an information processing terminal.

Abstract: A removable memory device includes a memory for storing individual information therein, and a memory manager for protecting the memory when the removable memory device is not connected to a portable terminal device and for allowing access thereto when the removable memory device is connected to the portable terminal. A controller physically part of the removable memory device, is used for detecting an interconnection with the portable terminal device and for controlling the memory manager. The removable memory device protects the individual information stored within it from being illegally used.
