  • Publication number: 20100159130
Abstract: Providing a metal mold repair method and a metal mold repair paste agent which are capable of repairing cracks with simple work. A repair paste agent containing components that become an alloy is directly applied to a surface of a metal mold having a crack so as to cover the crack part, subsequently a surface of the repair paste agent is coated with an oxidation inhibitor and the repair paste agent is made to penetrate the inside of the crack by heating and becomes an alloy, thereby filling up the crack.

  • Patent number: 7497243
Abstract: A mold for casting primarily of SMC420, wherein a cavity forming portion comprising maraging steel, which has the toughness and the resistance to heat shock superior to those of SMC420, is provided in a vertical wall heading for a cavity surface from a molten metal inlet and a portion nearest to the molten metal inlet in the cavity surface, which are portions suffering relatively large heat shock in the contact with a molten metal. Also provided is a method for providing the cavity forming portion, which comprises filling a concave portion of the mold with a molten metal prepared by melting a welding rod by arc welding, in other words, carrying out an overlaying welding, and then cooling and solidifying the molten metal.

  • Patent number: 6640570
Abstract: In a vehicle air conditioner, an interior heat exchanger of a heat pump refrigerant cycle is disposed in an air conditioning case to heat and cool air passing therethrough. The air conditioning case has therein a bypass passage through which air flows to a downstream side while bypassing the interior heat exchanger. In a defogging mode, air mainly passing through the bypass passage is blown toward a windshield of the passenger compartment, and air mainly passing through the interior heat exchanger is blown toward a lower side in the passenger compartment. Accordingly, even by setting the heating capacity of the interior heat exchanger at a maximum degree, it can restrict a windshield from being fogged in the defogging mode.

  • Patent number: 6625994
Abstract: If a refrigerant leaks from an interior heat exchanger, an outside air mode is switched ON, and a first bypass channel is opened to supply air, not having passed through the interior heat exchanger, to a passenger compartment through a defroster opening portion, while also supplying air, having passed through the internal heat exchanger, to the passenger compartment through a foot opening portion. Consequently, air having passed through the first bypass channel and thereby containing a considerable quantity of outside air free from the leaked refrigerant is supplied to the upper side of the passenger compartment, while air having passed through the interior heat exchanger and thereby containing the leaked refrigerant is supplied to the lower side of the passenger compartment, which makes it possible to prevent driver inhalation of the refrigerant.

  • Patent number: 6573000
Abstract: A sealed battery has an opening in an external casing sealed using a sealing plate that is laser welded to external casing. The sealing plate has a drop formed near a perimeter of the external surface of the sealing plate so that the surface of the sealing plate is higher at a perimeter of the sealing plate than at a more central position. When the sealing plate is laser welded to the rim of the external casing, the presence of the drop means that there is no direct thermal conduction path from the welded parts to the center of the sealing plate, which reduces the dissipation of heat away from the welded parts. As a result, there is a reduction in the thermal stresses that occur at the welded parts, which means that the formation of cracks in the welded joins can be suppressed, even when a low-power laser beam is used.

  • Patent number: 6455193
Abstract: A sealed battery has a generator element enclosed within an external casing. An opening in the external casing is covered by a closure cap in which an injection hole for injecting electrolyte is provided. The injection hole is sealed using a sealing plug which is composed of a support member that is fixed on a surface of the closure cap so as to cover the injection hole and a plugging member that is at least partially formed of an elastic material and is supported by the support member so as to plug the injection hole. The plugging member is formed of an elastic material and is pressed into the injection hole by the support member. As a result, an airtight seal can be easily and securely achieved for the injection hole. The support member can be made large to facilitate handling, thereby reducing the likelihood of the sealing plug being improperly supplied during attachment to the injection hole.
