  • Patent number: 4903994
Abstract: A connector assembly for connecting together fluid carrying lines comprises two hubs having the bores of the fluid carrying lines extending therethrough. Openings are provided in the hubs and a clamp is provided in the openings. The clamp is connected to one of the hubs and comprises a clamp body, an operating member and clamping members movable radially outwardly to clamp the juxtaposed hubs together, movement of the clamping members being caused by sliding of the operating member in the clamp body, the inclined external surfaces of the operating member co-operating with the similarly inclined inner ends of the clamping members. The interior of the operating member is hollow and defines a cylindrical internal cavity. A piston is provided in the cavity to form a piston and cylinder assembly for moving the operating member. A releasable lock prevents inadvertent release of the clamping members.

  • Patent number: 4902045
Abstract: A connector comprises a first coupling assembly comprising a first coupling member associated with an annular body from which extend a plurality of radially flexible fingers provided at their ends with engagement ribs engageable in grooves in a second coupling member to be abutted against the first coupling member. The fingers are held in their radially inner engaged position by a locking ring axially movable relative to the annular body between a locking position and an inoperative position. The locking ring may be associated a disengagement portion which, as the locking ring moves to its inoperative position, engages the ends of the fingers to move them radially outwardly to disengage the ribs from the grooves. The annular body may be axially movable relative to the first coupling member or fixed relative thereto.

  • Patent number: 4614177
Abstract: A range hood (2) mounted above a kitchen range (4) includes one or more storage shelves (6, 8) in the hood. An adjustable tilt-out front panel (22) is adaptable to include openable doors (24) for accessing the shelves, and is operated by a user between a position flush with adjacent cabinetry (20) or the like, and an extended position increasing the vapor collection area above the range. A gravity operated baffle (30) maintains integrity of the collection area liner by covering the additional collection area when the front panel is in the tilted-out position or any position inbetween. The housing (14) for the hood has an upper portion (16) and a lower depending portion (18) adjustably mounted to the upper portion to provide an adjustable overall vertical height. A hood mounting system provides built-in three dimensional adjustment and allows an installer to restrict adjustments to a single plane at a time for final fine tuning adjustment.
