  • Publication number: 20130257373
Abstract: A cable handler device has an elongated arm pivotally attached to a base, such that the arm is adapted to move in proximity to a charge receptacle, and a cable secured to the arm, the cable having a charge connector adapted to engage the charge receptacle. The cable has a fixed portion secured substantially parallel to the elongated arm and a free portion extending from a distal end of the elongated arm, and the charge connector is disposed suspended at an end of the free portion. A cantilever support maintains the elongated arm biased in an upward position, such that the cantilever support reduces external force needed to pivot the arm and a range of the pivot of the elongated arm disposes the charge connector above ground level such that the free portion avoids ground contact during engagement of the charge connector and charge receptacle.
