  • Patent number: 7684199
Abstract: A system and method for connecting supply power to motor control components includes use of a motor control center subunit with moveable supply power contacts. After a motor control center subunit is secured into a motor control center compartment, the supply power contacts may be advanced to engage supply power buses. For disconnection, the supply power contacts may be retracted and isolated from the buses before physical removal of the subunit. A free wheeling mechanism prevents supply power contacts from advancing and retracting past a preset travel range.

Date of Patent: March 23, 2010
    Assignee: Eaton Corporation

  • Patent number: 4974406
Abstract: A spiked drum is provided with a handle and frame to permit pushing the drum across the ground to pick up leaves on the spikes. The leaves are brushed off the spikes and into a basket by a rotating brush that is driven by the drum and is co-extensive in length with the drum.

  • Patent number: 4570984
Abstract: A mostly automatic device designed to hold open a common interior or exterior door simply by swinging the door until it strikes a small spring-loaded lever which moves in a linear mode, allowing the door to pass by said lever and to contact a larger lever with its own spring which is required to securely hold the door's edge, said small lever also assisting in holding the door trapped within the confines of both levers until such time as the door is pulled forward, this action releasing it from the pressure of the larger lever, and at the same moment causing the smaller lever to rotate and permit the door to pass by it, thus allowing the door to be freed of its formerly confined condition.

  • Patent number: 4567781
Abstract: A reciprocating input rod lifts a heavy ball up an inclined circular track that provides a path for the ball to roll down by gravity. The ball's speed of rotation causes the track itself to rotate and this rotation provides useful output energy of rotation.

  • Patent number: 4557124
Abstract: This invention consists of a small motor powered by dry cell batteries, which may be varied in number to provide the torque or turning power required to open a lock. A drive plate of friction material is attached to the motor shaft, and when the turner with a key in place is inserted into a lock, the drive plate will contact a similar plate that is fastened to the key-retention head. Such contact will cause the head to rotate and produce the required force needed to open the lock. Should a stubborn lock be encountered, the drive plates will slip and prevent a possible broken key. This arrangement also allows "jogging" of the key rotation which may be helpful in loosening a resistant lock. Another feature of this device is the capability of varying the power needed simply by changing the number of batteries and the body segments that enclose them.

  • Patent number: 4489851
Abstract: A manually-operated device assembled to the underside of the cover or lid which usually accompanies the purchase of a common household refuse or "garbage" can, said device consisting of a group of spring-loaded rods or bars whose ends are so formed as to fit into the circumferential recess or beads which are part of said can and provide stiffening at the top of the can, said rods or bars being moved into a locked position within the can's recess by depressing an external handle to which is fastened tapered rods projecting inside the cover, said tapered rods contacting a certain portion of the lock rods, and also by pulling up the handle said rods will allow the lock rods to retract from the can's recess and permit removal of the cover.

  • Patent number: 4474091
Abstract: A wrench is held in a steel case body that provides added leverage to the wrench shank. The body has a clock spring that is wound, to be released for moving a hammer into contact with the wrench shank to loosen stubborn nuts or the like. A ratchet and pawl provides a convenient means to wind the spring, and a release button releases the spring so the hammer can "tap" the wrench.

  • Patent number: 4450637
Abstract: This invention consists of four separate frame pieces or moldings held together with appropriate pivot pins and springs. By simply rotating any two opposing frame pieces, the remaining frame pieces at ninety degrees are simultaneously rotated in the same direction and held open ready for mounting in logical order the various items which constitute a completely framed photo, diploma, painting, etc. After assembling the required items, the frame pieces are again grasped and rotated in the opposite direction, forcing complete closure of the four frame pieces around the items mounted.
