The valve is designed to provide an enhanced no-spill function providing an extremely secure seal against accidental liquid flow from the nipple or spout when the user is not drinking therefrom.

Abstract: An improved no-spill cup construction and valve assembly. When not in use, an opening in the flexible material rests against a blocking element, sealing off the opening against the flow of liquid. The closed position provides an extremely secure seal against fluid leakage, such that inadvertent spills, such as by turning the cup upside down, are ineffective. The act of sucking at the cup spout creates negative pressure or a partial vacuum against the flexible material, lifting the opening off of the blocking element, and unblocking that opening. When the opening is unblocked, liquid can flow freely through the valve and spout.

Portions of the spoon are constructed of a hard material such as polypropylene to provide structural rigidity and to allow the utensil to easily slide along the bottom of a dish such as bowl or a plate. Other portions of the spoon are constructed of a softer material such as Kraton or silicone to provide for comfortable contact with the inside of the mouth and gums.

Abstract: Improved feeding dishes for children. The dishes are microwaveable containers such as plates or bowls having one or more lids thereon. The containers include pressure release opening such as vents for releasing pressure from the container while the dish is heated in a microwave. Automatic vents, which release pressure once the pressure releases a given level, and manual vents, which are opened and closed by the parent, are provided. Preferably, the containers are composites of soft and hard components.
