  • Patent number: 8303387
Abstract: Systems and methods of simulated objects and applications thereof are disclosed here. In one aspect, embodiments of the present disclosure include a method, which may be implemented on a system, of simulating a virtual sports game played by a real participant in a real world environment. One embodiment includes generating a simulated playing field that represents a physical location in the real world environment and is provided for access via a device. The simulated playing field can include characteristics that correspond to physical characteristics of the physical location where the real participant is located. One embodiment further includes, identifying a user requested action to be performed on a simulated object in the simulated playing field by detecting user interaction with the device.

  • Patent number: 8275796
Abstract: The patent describes a single location and application on a network where a user can organize public, group, and private/personal information and have this single, location accessible to the public. A new, ontology-driven portal that organizes all three categories of data according to various “facets” using underlying ontologies to define each “facet” and wherein any type of information can be classified and linked to other types of information is disclosed. An application that enables a user to effectively utilize and manage knowledge and data the user posses and allows other users to effectively and seamlessly benefit from the user's knowledge and data over a computer network is also disclosed. A method of processing content created by a user utilizing a semantic, ontology-driven portal on a computer network is described. The semantic portal application provides the user with a content base, such as a semantic form or meta-form, for creating a semantic posting.

  • Publication number: 20120203734
Abstract: Systems and methods for automatic mapping of a location identifier pattern of an object to a semantic type using object metadata are disclosed. In one aspect, embodiments of the present disclosure include a method, which may be implemented on a system, of identifying a set of tags associated with a website that is hosted by a web server. The method further includes, detecting a web page in the website in which a tag of the set of tags is identified, extracting a pattern from a Universal Resource Locator (URL) of the web page, and/or storing the pattern in a database embodied in a machine-readable storage medium as being mapped to the semantic type. The tag corresponds to a semantic type with which the content embodied in the web page has a semantic relationship and the pattern corresponds to the semantic type with which the content embodied in the web page has a semantic relationship.

  • Publication number: 20100302143
Abstract: Systems and methods for control of a simulated object that is associated with a physical location in the real world environment are herein disclosed. In one aspect, embodiments of the present disclosure include a method, which may be implemented on a system, of determining whether a location data and a timing data satisfy a criterion. Responsive to determining that the location data and the timing data satisfy the criterion, the method enables access of the simulated object in a simulated environment by a user via a device. The simulated object generally includes attributes that are perceived by the user via the device. In one embodiment, the location data includes a location of the device and the timing data includes a time when the device is located at the location.

  • Patent number: 7409437
Abstract: A system for integrating video programming with the vast information resources of the Internet. A computer-based system receives a video program with embedded uniform resource locators (URLs). The URLs, the effective addresses of locations or Web sites on the Internet, are interpreted by the system and direct the system to the Web site locations to retrieve related Web pages. Upon receipt of the Web pages by the system, the Web pages are synchronized to the video content for display. The video program signal can be displayed in a video window on a conventional personal computer screen. The actual retrieved Web pages are time stamped to also be displayed, on another portion of the display screen, when predetermined related video content is displayed in the video window. As an alternative, the computer-based system receives the URLs directly through an Internet connection, at times specified by TV broadcasters in advance. The system interprets the URLs and retrieves the appropriate Web pages.
