  • Patent number: 7374281
Abstract: Disclosed is a recording apparatus that helps to achieve a reduction in size and cost. The recording apparatus has a U-turn sheet feeding mechanism for reversing and feeding a recording medium and a duplex transport mechanism for reversing the recording medium and performing printing on both sides thereof, in which the same transport path serves as a transport path for transporting the recording medium from a U-turn sheet feeding roller to a main transport roller for transporting the recording medium to a printing portion and as a transport path for reversal in duplex transport. Further, a transport roller provided in the transport path from the U-turn sheet feeding roller to the main transport roller for transporting the recording medium to the printing portion is the same as a transport roller for duplex transport. A single transport roller serves both as the U-turn transport roller and as the duplex transport roller.

  • Patent number: 7125013
Abstract: An automatic feeding device for feeding plural number of recording sheets stacked on a pressure plate by separating them one by one is provided with a sheet-feeding roller for carrying the recording sheets stacked on the pressure plate; a separation roller for separating the recording sheets one by one by abutting against the recording sheet carried by the sheet-feeding roller; and a fornt stage-regulator that confines the number of recording sheets advancing into the separation roller. At least one of the sheet-feeding shafts provided for both ends of the sheet-feeding roller is made movable along the bearing groove of elongated hole of the bearing, and least one of the sheet-feeding shafts is structured to move between plural positions during the execution of a series of feeding operations. With the structure thus arranged, it is made possible to enable the recording medium to be bitten stably into the nipping portion of the sheet-conveying roller and pinch roller in good condition.

  • Patent number: 7046380
Abstract: A recording apparatus in which a total recording time can be shortened by decreasing a feed time efficiently, in a case where continuous recording is performed on a plurality of recording media. This recording apparatus includes a feed roller for feeding a plurality of recording media one by one, a conveying roller for conveying the recording medium fed by the feed roller to a recording device, and the recording device for performing a record on the recording medium conveyed by the conveying roller. In this apparatus, when a succeeding recording medium is fed during discharge of the recording medium on which the record has been completed, a feed start timing by the feed roller is determined in accordance with a leading end margin amount for the succeeding recording medium.

  • Publication number: 20060038847
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide an ink jet printing apparatus that can print high quality images under simple control. The present invention includes a conveying roller disposed upstream of a printing section to convey a print medium, a pinch roller that rotates in cooperation with the conveying roller and discharging rollers that convey the print medium downstream of the printing section. The pinch roller, before a trailing end of the print medium reaches a nip portion between the conveying roller and the pinch roller moves from a pressure contact position with respect to the conveying roller. A conveyance amount of the print medium varies between before and after separation of the pinch roller from the conveying roller.

  • Patent number: 6523929
Abstract: According to an image forming apparatus, a simple arrangement is used to switch the transmission of drive forces, produced by drive sources that are used in common by multiple drive mechanisms, without depending on the movement of a carriage, for example. The drive force produced by a line feed (LF) motor to drive feed rollers is transmitted to a pump cam in a recovery system via a pendulum drive force transmission mechanism, which is provided at one end close to the feed rollers. And the drive force produced by another motor to drive paper supply rollers is transmitted via the same pendulum drive force transmission mechanism to the paper supply rollers, or to a blade holder and a cap holder in the recovery system. Therefore, the transmission of the drive forces can be switched by controlling the rotational directions of the motors.
