  • Patent number: 4742500
Abstract: A decorative time keeping apparatus includes a stuffed animal having an outer fabric filled with a soft stuffing material, the outer fabric formed with an opening; a hollow housing secured to the outer fabric in the opening so as to prevent escape of the stuffing, the housing including a circular recess; a clock removably secured in the recess; and a securing assembly for releasably securing the clock in the recess, the securing assembly including two diametrically opposite catches secured to the housing in the recess thereof, and two diametrically opposite latches secured to the clock and extending rearwardly therefrom for engagement by the catches, with a spring material positioned between the housing and the clock for biasing the latches into releasable locking engagement with the catches.

  • Patent number: 4395134
Abstract: A multi-position joystick-type control switch for use with a combination timepiece and game is disclosed. Movement of the joystick into each of its positions causes displacement of a game element on the face of the timepiece in either the up, down, right or left direction. The joystick control switch is preferably for use with a microprocessor-controlled electronic game watch. Several embodiments of the switching socket of the joystick are disclosed. The joystick may be comprised of the switching socket and a rigid cylindrical rod threaded therein or a telescoping cylindrical rod portion. The joystick may be affixed to the watch band in a clip or compartment.

  • Patent number: 4008564
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device comprises a liquid crystal display cell in combination with electronic circuit elements coupled thereto. The liquid crystal cell comprises a layer of a liquid crystal composition between two electrodes having electrode configurations thereon. The circuit elements, which may be in the form of an integrated circuit chip, or discrete elements, or a combination thereof, are mounted on a substrate of the liquid crystal display cell via conductive pads provided on the substrate. The substrate contains a segmented electrode pattern, each segment of which is provided with a lead to an appropriate conductive pad which pads interconnect the segment to one or more circuit elements. A cover or encapsulant may be placed over the liquid crystal display cell or over the entire assembly.

  • Patent number: 3955355
Abstract: There is disclosed an integral instrument providing timekeeping and display with calculator functions and display accomplished by means of a keyboard assembly mounted on the watch casing and adapted to be worn about a user's wrist. Included is time sharing circuitry to enable common display drivers for the timekeeping and calculating modes as well as power sharing circuitry to enable the use of inexpensive and reliable P-MOS circuitry in the calculator mode without constantly dissipating power. A time-zone setting circuit utilizes logic circuitry to automatically enable the user to change time by direct access to the existing keyboard assembly.
