Abstract: The present invention entails a tree mounted deer stand that is of a lightweight open frame construction. In particular, the deer stand comprises a tree trunk mounting frame and an open base frame structure extending generally normally therefrom. Extending upwardly from a central part of the open base frame is a seat support post having a rotating seat mounted thereon. A circumferential portion of the open base frame structure forms a foot bar that enables a seated hunter to propel and reposition himself or herself by pushing against the foot bar with his or her feet, while leaving the hunter's hands totally free for operating a firearm.
