Abstract: An arrangement for compressing a product to be packed in a package before evacuation of the package which comprises a transport device for carrying a package into which a product has been introduced but which package has not yet been closed, into the range of activity of a piston, means for lowering the piston into the package to act on the free upper surface of the product so as to compress the material in the interior of the package uni-directionally, means for subjecting the package after said compression to evacuation to further reduce the internal pressure of the product to be packed and means for sealing and closing said package.

Abstract: A cup formed container made of a punched container blank of cardboard or the like has two opposite side pieces connected to the container bottom, and being wider than the bottom side with which they are connected. Opposite joint flaps are connected to the other two sides of the bottom. Each side piece has a central part which forms a complete container side and an outer side part on each end of the central part, these outer side parts each forming part of an adjacent side of the container, so that the outer side parts jointly form at least part of the intermediate container sides, with the joint flaps serving to complete the intermediate sides and keep the parts together.

Abstract: In a cup formed container formed from a plain punched blank of cardboard or the like laminated with an inner lining blank, the carton is formed by two opposite side pieces folded up from the bottom of the blank so as to form two opposite walls, the remaining two walls being formed by extended ends of the two side pieces and a joint flap, the joint flap being folded upwardly from the bottom, and the extended ends being folded upwardly and inwardly so as to lie adjacent the joint flaps. Two cooperating extended ends and a joint flap thus form the other walls, with the cooperating extended ends forming a joint between their opposing joining edges. The lining blank projects a distance radially outside the joint flaps and above the intended upper edge of the container, the projecting portion of the lining blank forming a projecting lining tongue which is folded over the upper edge of the walls and is attached to the outside of the container over the joint formed by the joining edges of the extended ends.

Abstract: A fluid tight container having an outer blank with top and bottom closing flaps and a lining laminated over substantially the entire inner surface thereof and extending beyond the top and bottom flaps and laterally beyond one side edge of the outer blank and folded thereover. In the finished state of the blank, the inside of the outer blank at the side thereof opposite the folded over lining portion is attached to the outside of the outer blank at the folded over lining portion. The longitudinal ends of the lining extending beyond the closing flaps are sealed together to form sealed container ends.
