Patent number: 8479485Abstract: There is provided a method for producing a rope member, provided with a rope of a bundle of synthetic fibers and a clamping member fixed to the rope and forming a portion with which the rope is to be connected or fastened to an external member, wherein a filler having permeability to the rope and containing a liquid and particles of an inorganic material dispersed in the liquid is made to permeate into a part of the rope, and the clamping member is fixed to the rope by installing the clamping member to cover the part of the rope permeated with the filler and by tightening the clamping member. The liquid is evaporated and only the inorganic material particles remain between the fibers of the rope. The clamping member is prevented from slippage even when a high load is applied to the synthetic fiber rope having high tensile force.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 2010Date of Patent: July 9, 2013Assignee: Kongo CorporationInventors: Okitsugu Furuya, Akira Matsuzaka, Kazuya Noguchi, Masanori Funayama

Patent number: 8098873Abstract: In headphones in which headphone units are worn on the head via a headband having a predetermined urging force, a substantially constant urging force is always obtained without being influenced by a difference in width and shape of the user's head. In headphones 100 including a headphone unit 200 in which an electroacoustic transducer is incorporated in a housing 210; and a head wearing means (for example, a headband 110) for supporting the headphone unit 200 via a hanger member, the headphone unit 200 being held at the ear position of the head in a state of being urged by the head wearing means, the hanger member is a support frame 120 arranged around the housing 210 of the headphone unit 200, and the headphone unit 200 is supported on the support frame 120 via a plurality of constant force spiral springs 130.Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 2007Date of Patent: January 17, 2012Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Audio-TechnicaInventors: Okitsugu Furuya, Yosuke Sato, Mitsuo Miyata

Patent number: 5687269Abstract: A method of oblique spherical polishing of an optical connector by which a desired contact surface angle on an axis of the optical connector is obtained easily and securely without requiring additional processing. In order to form a dome of a radius R, which is oblique with the contact surface angle .theta.', at the end surface of the optical connector 20, which has ferrule 22 of which a tip 24 is beveled, the tip of the optical connector 20 is polished by tilting it with the angle .theta. which fulfills the relationsin .theta.=sin .theta.'+S/Rwhere S is the amount of the deviation of the dome.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 1996Date of Patent: November 11, 1997Assignee: The Whitaker CorporationInventors: Okitsugu Furuya, Akihiro Miyachi, Masaaki Miyazawa

Patent number: 5588845Abstract: This invention offers a connector for base boards and a method for connecting base boards which is of low profile and produces highly reliable electrical connections due to the fact that it does not generate pressure applied perpendicularly to the base boards which may result in their warping. Connectors for base boards 10, 10' consist of the primary and secondary connectors 20a, 20b having L-shaped contacts 50 which are attached, preferably using the SMT method, to the lands 61, 62 formed on the matching surfaces of the base boards 60a, 60b. A longitudinal groove 41 is made in the primary connector housing 40a, and contacting sections 52, 52 of the contacts 50a of the primary connector 20a and contacts 50b of the secondary connector 20b, which is inserted in the groove 41, are connected by means of an elastic connecting component 30.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 1994Date of Patent: December 31, 1996Assignee: The Whitaker CorporationInventors: Takaki Naitoh, Okitsugu Furuya
